Posts: 23 | The most significant problem with the PS3 and its launch is the simple fact that there are none out there. I don't honestly believe the games available are any worse than what could be found on the Xbox 360 (besides the above-average CoD 2 port and PGR3). We can probably equal-out this year's Call of Duty with the one last year, and the decent (but no "killer app") Resistance just about matches PGR3's quality.
Blu-ray is a big deal, however. The visuals are extremely impressive, and considering the fact that Samsung's stand alone player retails for around $1,000, its inclusion in the PS3 makes it quite the bargain.
The PS3 is an investment. With that said, there's no reason to buy it now, since the competition from Microsoft is producing better games (GoW), while the Wii tries some completely refreshing stuff (motion sensor).
Plus, the PS3 I tested locked up a few times. Beware the faulty launch console...
