Ok, Sony would make loads of money if that were true huh?
You believed it, and you bought a Xbox because of it...starting to see the point?
There's more to making money long-term than "tricking" people into buying your product. There's a little thing called reputation, and Sony is already hurting. It would be a pretty stupid move for them implement something like that and drive away potential sales, not to mention the loss in rental sales. (how many copies of each game to you suppose Blockbuster buys?)
And there's still the fact that the disk is READ ONLY, meaning it can't be changed. Plus the PS3 is READ ONLY, meaning it can't write any data TO the disk, it only reads it. (how would one PS3 leave a note for another PS3 to even KNOW the disk had been in there?) It's pretty basic stuff here fella.
