The way you and many others like you use the word is not recognised as any of the above. And you call people liberals like its something to be ashamed of?
Is being a free, generous, forward thinking educated man anything to be ashamed of?

sorry there, but here in america, where i live, the word liberal has taken another meaning from your dictionary verse.
Todays liberals politically are:
socialists
communists
democrats
green party
and im sure theres more.
not one of those parties is for freedom. They are all about government control for the"common good", not trusting the individual to make decsions for him. Like your own government, you pay much higher taxes to support your larger government.. you have goverment education, government social security, government welfare, and government medical care. Granted america has most of that too, which is why i fight against the tide. you dont even have the right to defend yourself, and you take pride in that!! a man that cannot defend himself, has no rights. That makes you a political prisoner in your own country. Politics is a game dominated by the few. Every side trys to pull the wool over your eyes. The only thing you can do is fight back. When the government has no reason to fear you, it has no reason to listen to you either.

Being a liberal in TODAYS REAL WORLD DEFINITION is not a good thing in my eyes.
