Excelent system there but the cost is a bit pricey but still ill wait till the pre order panic is over and then it will reduce hopefully and wham i strike and get my purchased and home with me. Blue Ray player here i come.

umm.. i say no.. howabout that?
what i dont understand is.. they are JACKING UP the price in europe for no reason(yet they drop the price in japan.. hmmm), they are even TAKING OUT functionality (the ps2 backwards compatibility) which is a big part of the initial purchase, since there are few games out for the ps3, and it was supposed to scale ps2 games to HD, and only europe has this problem. yes all new ps3's will not have the Emotion chip in it(the ps2 chip), but with 4million already made (1.6mil sold), its gonna be awhile before anyone but the europeans have this lower class ps3. now i dont like sony to start with, but why are they jacking the price up and taking out functionality? Granted they are doing a software emulation compatibility, but they even said it will be just like the 360's.. which is spotty at best when it comes to xbox games.
then again, i dont know why systems are backwards compatible to begin with.. why do you buy a NEW system just to play OLD games.. i sold off everything xbox the week before i got my launch 360 (so i could still get good prices for it) and never looked back. why is backwards compatability even a real issue?? i just get pissed at a policy of "take out functionality, but make em pay more for it!!" crap.. and i dont even live in EU, nor do i want a PS3..

funnier yet.. with the new "Zephyr" release, im sure thats about the same time they will drop prices on the 360, even if its just make the current premium, core priced, drop the core, and make the new 360 premium priced. I am assuming however that ms will drop the price a few bux on top since the new 360 will be made of the smaller NM die chip. so you could be seing a price difference of up to 300 between the 360 and the PS3.. especially in europe. you can buy an HDDVD addon and a few games or movies with that price difference, or just a heck of alot of games!!! Why would you even want a PS3 then besides being a cheap bluray player??? If you can wait 3 or 4 yrs, bluray/HDDVD will probably both have sub $200 players anyways... if not before then. Who cares what hardware it has.. does 99% of the people have the capability to play lossless audio??? probably not.. most people dont even have HDTV's. Not like the PS3 scales games right anyways.. or did they ever fix that.. MAJOR bug?
You really want 2-4 exclusive games to justify 200-300 more in price.. plus the games on top!??! i love games, but are they THAT important to you?? sooner or later you will probably be able to rent 360's and PS3's from blockbuster anyways.. just wait and rent the console and games for a week, save ya 600++ smackers.
