I would get the HDTV, with that you can watch TV play 360 and use it as a PC moniter. with the moniter your stuck to one input at a time, as the moniter just shows what ever is being fed into it. where as like you say the HDTV has channels and you can run lots of inputs at once, also HDTVs have better response time and contrast ratio usually and on the whole would be a better investment.
