Posts: 3,184 | Closest to death? Hmm, I have a few examples; from having meningitas as a baby, to going Evil Knevil on a Tricycle as a toddler down a flight of stairs (almost snapping my neck) or falling off of several of my motorbikes, on seperate occasions.
Erm, the closest though, would have to an accident I had on one of my Quad's (ATV) when I was about 12.
It was a warm summer day and me, and my neighbour were messing around in our gardens on our race quads (I had a 1 acre garden at the time) and I decided to give her a race. So, we pulled up along side and set off. Since the two quads were virtually the same, it was neck and neck. I got a better run out of the bottom corner and pulled along side. She then forced me to go off the track that we had set out. Unlucky for me, is that there was a dip hidden in some longish grass. Even more unlucky is that I was doing nearly 60mph at the time. I hit the dip, and I was literally launched from the bike and sent flying down the garden, with the quad in hot pursuit. I hit the ground about 20ft further down from the dip THEN the quad thought it'd be nice for itself to land on the softest thing around; me. The quad was a 125cc Suzuki-Yamaha hybrid race quad that weighed about 135kg (297lbs) so when it lands on you at about 40mph, you know about it. Me and the bike then rolled another 50ft and I got splattered. The bike landed handle-bars first onto my chest with enough force to actually snap the bars completely. After that it's a bit of a blur as I was knocked out just before we came to a stop and woke up about 30 mins later in an ambulance.
I had 3 cracked ribs and a dislocated shoulder and knee. So, lesson here kids is NEVER BUY A QUAD! EVIL! |
