Posts: 5,094 | The only reason the other production studios reneged on the Halo film was that Peter Jackson insisted, or more accurately stated, demanded, that Neill Blomkamp (E3 short film) direct the film. He is a relatively rookie director and this turned many financial backers off. With a 200+ million dollar expected budget, these studios were reluctant to hand over the reigns to a noob. Halo merchandising is a guaranteed seller and a high revenue stream although nothing in the movie industry is a guaranteed blockbuster. Just look at all the other games turned movies which ended up as complete and utter **** bombs (see Doom). I have faith they won't turn Halo into a joke. And dammit, that ****er better be rated R! |
