Next week brings us yet another season of NFL football. The year kicks off Thursday the 6th of September when the Saints go marching in to the RCA dome. To celebrate another season I have created a little contest of sorts.
Now,
the winner of this contest will be given a free Xbox 360 game of their choosing on me, your humble Podcast Host / Staff Writer. Location is irrelevant as all members from around the globe can participate,
including staff and mods, with nothing to lose and a 360 title, free ninety free, to gain. I have altered the rules of this contest in an attempt to make it more interesting. These alterations will be permanent although minor revisions may be made.
Getting Started
To begin, you must select one team from each division and each conference who you think will win. There are 4 divisions per; North, South East, West. You must predict who will win each division respectively and provide a listing of each selection. You are also required to pick two (2) Wild Card teams from each conference. Now that you have your teams chosen it’s important to know the scoring system.
Point System
Previously, I had created a point system which was tallied at the end of the season. However, I felt a more consistent approach would be more entertaining for NFL heads and haters alike. The newly revised contest will keep track and divvy points on a week by week basis. Each members completed roster will be given a team number. The numbers are based off posts. As such, team seeds will break down as followed;

Weekly match ups will be provided so that each participant can track their points versus the specific team they have been pitted against. To score points, chosen Wild Card wins gain you one (1) point while chosen division champions will be awarded two (2) points per win each week. To put a little more competitive edge on the contest, a team will be awarded five (5) points for defeating another participating member’s selected team. Teams who have identical division winners or Wild Cards who end up playing one another (both selected Titans and Bears as division winners or Wild Cards), each are subject to the regular point scale. If both Matt and I pick the Titans and the Bears as division champs and both teams play each other, each will be awarded 2 points regardless of who wins. However, If Matt selects the Bears as a division winner and I have chosen the Titans as a Wild Card winner and both play each other with the Titans wining; I would be awarded 5 points. Wild Cards defeating another player’s division champ will always result in 5 points unless the other member has the same Wild Card. If they do end up sharing the Wild Card it is subject to the regular point scale. Any questions regarding exceptions or if a player requires further explanation please PM me.
At the end of the season additional points will be awarded based off of your NFL predictions for the year. That point scale will be as followed;
1-3 Correct Predictions = 100
4–6 Correct Predictions = 125
7–9 Correct Predictions = 200
10–11 Correct Predictions = 250
All 12 Correct Predictions = 300
If you have any questions regarding the point scale PM me. If participation is high, all of your accumulated points will roll over into a higher point scale playoff system. If participation is low, the member with the best record at the end of regular season wins the contest. In the event of two members having identical records, points will be used as the tie breaker. The deadline for submissions will be the day prior to week one. This means all participants must have their roster in no later than Wednesday the 5th.
Rules
Once you have selected and posted your teams you are not allowed to edit the post whatsoever. It does not matter if it was due in part to spelling errors or punctuation, you will be disqualified. The only person allowed to edit a post would be me since I have nothing to gain from the contest besides competitive entertainment. No member can have identical selections in each conference. Each member must be careful as if your NFC selected teams are identical to Karma’s NFC picks, who happened to post prior to you, you will be disqualified. Any posts which are not relevant to the subject matter at hand will be deleted. Criticism of other members’ selections will not be tolerated.
It will be your responsibility to track your rosters and tally your own points. PM me the stats for the week including who played who, win or loss, how many points, et cetera. I will then check your stats to ensure they are accurate. Those who do not PM me with their stats will automatically forfeit all points gained for that week.

Since I will be the one coming out the pocket my handicap is higher therefore I go first.
