However, Manning was not successful converting red zone opportunities into touch downs (What the **** Clark!!) which was the deciding factor in the game. The Colts run the Cover 2 defense which effectively limits deep ball routes so the opposing offense is forced to utilize slants and stretch plays mid field which is what they did. All you Belicheat fans must remember, the Colts were without Marvin Harrison which led to double coverage on Wayne for the majority of the game. They couldn’t stretch the defense by opening the field which hampered their passing attack. Take away Randy Moss from the game to make it even Steven and the Patriots would find themselves 2 touchdowns less and a loss to boot. The Colts led through 3 solid quarters and Manning cannot be at fault for the loss. The Colts secondary went man on Moss in the 4th which led to a deep ball and the game ending rushing TD. The game demonstrated to me that the Pats can be beat so long as they do not record opposing teams’ defensive schemes. The Colts and Patriots will meet again … Oh yes, they will meet again with a healthy Harrison and a prepared Addai to go over 200 APY once more. Bask in the glory of the victory now Pats fans but the Playoffs, along with the Superbowl, are games where records mean nothing. It’s an entirely new ball game.
In other NFL news how about Adrian Peterson! 296 rushing yards from scrimmage?!? A lot of skepticism was cast upon his draft prospects because of his injured leg he suffered during his college stint. The Vikings scored big picking him up 7th overall and with a consistent QB and a few decent receivers; Minnesota would be a force in the NFC north. They already have an outstanding O-Line which is obviously reflected by Peterson’s stats. Baltimore once again proved that a starting O-Line and QB who are AARP members cannot win. They are pretty much a lost cause for any playoff hopes especially with ****sburg doing so well but a wild card is plausible albeit a long shot. Let’s be honest with each other. Who thought before the first snap of the NFL season the Packers would be 7-1 and the Lions 6-2? This is why I love football … You never know who the Cinderella team will be but if any team is deserving it’s the Lions. Oh Josh, what happened to your Mules (Broncos) going all the way? 44-7? All in all a good week in the NFL and we have Thursday and Saturday games to look forward to fairly soon. Here is how week 9 ended up;
Malo Tied 2010 6-6
Middy Defeated Matt 17-10
Tobli Defeated Jack 17-6
