the wireless can burn through the batteries pretty fast, especially if you didn't use fresh batteries. using the rumble feature will really take the life expectancy down even further.
before i got the rechargeable pack for the controllers, i could easily go through a couple of aa's in a week. and when they get low, you disconnect a lot. i also notice on mine, that the lights around the 'x' symbol will flash in a sequence, then return to the 'controller 1' position.
