Well i have found the reason why i couldnt connect to a game. after 2 weeks of trying i was really geting p*ssed.

turns out my DNS settings on my xbox were different to my router. as soon as i changed, everything was fine.

I usually switch my DNS on my router from automatic to open DNS, turns out this stopped me from playing COD4.

Strange though cos i could still play TF2.
