I told my Wii my sensor bar was on the bottom, but I keep it on the top. The result is that I can rest my hands without interfering with my aiming (otherwise I wouldn't be able to target the bottom of the screen without lifting my arm to angle my wrist down). Given how tight the controls are, resting my hands also lets me make more precise movements.

It's a tough game to jump into months after release. Some people have already racked up 500 hours of play time, and they all have their perfect settings tried and true. Try unranked servers if you ever rent again. It'll give you the chance get your bearings before the rank whores dogpile on you. A good CTF (without FF) game is also a good place to start, where you have some teammates covering you, gives you time to learn the environment and the quirks of each weapon.
