It is a score given to a game that has brought something new to the video gaming world. It has improved other areas to a degree where it is so noticeable that you wonder why it hasn't been done before. The game, as a whole, is an experience that can't be comparable to any other game without considering comparison as an insult...so to speak. It's a game that you know will be used as a pinnacle for the various components of a video game for the future (until the next big thing comes along). And you know that it is a classic the second you played it.
