Posts: 953 | I agree with you Remix - but suggest that we are on the verge of a cultural shift in thinking with respect to downloads. The idea of having a physical 'disc' may be what keeps BluRay alive - but that is quickly forgotten when consumers experience the convenience of data sharing between devices. When Mp3's first came out - many dismissed them as a fad for the young, but nowadays, you don't see too many people demanding to have a physical 'CD' anymore - and of those that do, the first task at hand is typically to 'rip' the CD into a file format that is more transportable to their various music devices.
The blueprint for the digital future of film is already written in the recent history of its music-based cousin.
