well i'm not disagreeing with you but you only played 3 games that were even released this year. I can name 10 games that came out in 2008 that were an 8.5 or better. Rarely does that happen, or atleast in the past. Thats why people say 2008 was a big year for games.

EDIT: I'm not talking about review scores i mean were a b+ or better in my book.
