well, my cables are due july 2-8, so I'll post a result. Recently, I got an E74, but a restart later it disappeared and hasn't returned since. As I remember from my first ill-fated xbox, the e74 denotes a failure of either the video chip, from faulty solder or otherwise, or a faulty AV cable, I can only hope its the cable. As for resolutions, i got my tv from a friend who was getting a new one, so its older, the kind that takes a bit for the picture to warm up, and i'm not sure if it can even change resolutions. I'll try and look though.
An interesting note: I've found it can come and go, sometimes disappearing without a restart, but I've never gotten it while streaming netflix, and sometimes it will go away when I start watching one. It may be a coincidence, but I'm not entirely sure.
