Prehistoric? I think not, but old, very much so. And obviously people still care, because these companies create "wars" and we become voluntary troops to fight for the cause, regardless of whether we are right or wrong (you could parallel it to the Crusaders or any other war for that matter). The end result is futile as gaming does not appear to be going away anytime soon. Since many of us are guided by a budget, we have to choose a system and hope that we made the right choice. Once we convince ourselves of having made the "right" choice, we defend it.

At any rate, as I already so aptly stated in my first post- its about the games. I like more games on the Xbox than any other (I also like the controller design and it feels better), ergo, I am more inclined to align myself with that console. But, thankfully, in my infinite ailing wisdom, I tend to be less fanboy-ish than the next single console owning individual (plus, I know my roots in gaming do not begin with Msoft).

Bionic pointed out that gameplay is very important, and should take precendence over visuals. I happen to agree. I remember the game "Out of this World" being not very stunning visually, but the physics were very appealing, the most life-like of that generation of games (IMO), which made the game play that much more interesting. I still like my games to look good (as beautfiul people tend to surround themselves with beautiful things), but if the gameplay sucks, not amount of gloss will help it. Once again, this brings us back to the topic of: it's about the games!
