Posts: 1,875 | I agree that the article is just a rehash of the same old information that we have been living on since E3 of last year. The only thing new that I know of was the potential for Sony to have a unified online network.
Aside from that, Sony cannot price the PS3 too much higher than the 360. If they do so, then they will be alienated potential customers. If you look at the PS3, they only clear advantage it has over the 360 is the Blu-ray drive. The Cell is really a non-issue as it is not a processor built for gaming, and that is what the PS3 is aligned with; gaming. Ask anyone what a PS1 or PS2 is for; gaming. If the 360 and PS3 are showing off games that look practically identical, but the PS3 version costs more, which would you buy?
Perhaps Sony has alterior motives, but the reality is, their product is bound by name identity to gaming. And to do anything more at this point is going to hurt them financially. |
