Its because they dont use deticated server but rather the host of the game used there 360 as a server. This is alright if the host has a good internet connection if not the game gets laggy. The need to show the connection quality of the hosts so that people can join games with good connections. I think PDZ had it but Im not sure. Games made by MS game studios have good online play like Halo 2 and PDZ those game dont lag much at all. But third party companies dont focus as much on the online components which is why things like COD 2 lags happens.

I have 24 mbps down, and 1 mbps up. When I host games, it still kicks ppl out.
