If you perform a certain quest for "The Gray Prince" the final battle between you and the Prince will be fairly easier than fighting without completing the quest. In the final battle it is pretty much "anything goes" you can wear whatever you want and if you defeat him make sure you loot up on his gear. You can exchange his armor for enchanted armor of your weight choice. Good Luck
