Need Help with mages guild

I just got suspended from the mages guild for stealing. Now i have to go to the imperial city to get back in. the mages guild gates to arcane university on the sides won't open. i have to get through those gates to take off the suspension. Can any one know how to get through the gates to arcane university.

PS i do apologize if i got the name of the university wrong. Not sure if the name is right.

Go INSIDE the building
through the door
and talk to the guy in there

Ok i just had this quest
Go south of bravil and theres a cave
just outside of that cave theres a bunch of flowers called redwort
you need to collect 20 redwort and 20 dragon tongue

Dont listen to post above, that redwort and dragon tongue is for getting rid of vampireisme i think. Could be that quest you need to do tho.

About that guy, he is some times in that small building between those 2 gates you cant open. But only for a few hours a day. I believe he is there around 9 am and 9 pm.

goto one of the churches, I think its in chorrol or cheylindal (what ever they are called) go open there basement doors and kill the ghost. Thats were you get the ectoplasm. Any way muthas you are wrong and phearthebane is right. I am currently doing that quest.

You can also buy the haunted Manor in Anvil and sleep there at night, you will then be waken up by ghosts and once you kill them you get ectoplasm.

WHere do I find Dragontounge and redwort I need it to enter the mages guild so I can get a cure for vampirism.

Well, I have been searching forums for nearly an hour now and the most asked question is, "Where is the dragon's tongue?" I have followed every direction given by anyone who has answered and, for the life of me, I cannot find dragon's tongue... The only reason I want back into the Mage's Guild is to finish all of their quests because I have beaten Theives, Dark Brotherhood, Fighters, and the Arena. Please, someone come up with some decent logical directions for me! (Oh and, btw, if anyone is reading this, i will give you all directions so far... Outside of Chorrol on Odiil Farm... Outside of Bravil near Bawn ruins.... and Along the Panther River, near any ruins or campsites. If ANYONE has any luck with these places OR new information please help me out!)

haha, you guys got it easy... I WAS a conjurer for the mage's guild at a high level(25 - 30, I forgot lol), but I HAD to kill a mage guild person for the final theives guild quest since they were all attacking me :\ (don't know which one of these caused this). so now I'm stuck having to get 20 Deadric Hearts and 20 Vampire Dusts...pretty simple really... just don't know where to find 'em. any suggestions?

Ok, nvm, I found where to get that stuff. most if the hearts can be found in Oblivion. but the vampire dusts can be found in memorial cave.
(if u dont have this on your map do the order of the virtious blood[speeling may be wrong]) but in that cave there are 6 - 7 vampires, kill them all, then about 1 or 2 days later go back and kill em again

Phearthebane mentioned the building between the gates. I said he wasnt always their, and thats rights, cause he is only there at day.

go to the main ingredient in the imperial city market district and see if he has any, if he does buy them and go outside wait 24 hours try again and do that even if he dosent

look at vahtacans secret quest (sp?) there are some posts in there about that...

do the mages guild quest lastwhen you have to stell the document because that how i got susped and i didnt get caught she realized it after a while
