Posts: 5,094 | Yeah I always wondered why Wal-Mart and all the electronics stores had stockpiles of 40GB models and zero 80GB. Obviously this mystery has now been solved. |

Sony didn't even have it listed on their corporate site (nor the 20 or 60). i think the 40 brought them more in line with what consumers considered a fair/reasonable price for a next gen console.
and there are games i like to play from last gen, at least until the newest version of the game comes out, like a new KOTOR or Republic Cammando. On the ps2, it would be dragon quest viii and rogue galaxy. i suppose i have enough inputs that i could hook another console to the tv and run ps2 and ps3... |

Posts: 3,238 | There are rumors of the 80gb being packaged with MGS4, so if you have your heart set on backward compatablility maybe you should wait. I wanted 80gb, but the 40 is fine. Hell, I shelled out $400 for the PS3 and I have less than 10 hours of game time on it. 360 does everything I want better than PS3.

Although Sony is attempting to create a video distribution architecture, the VMP is quite appealing and the majority of my data is dedicated to that. Also, I don't own any PS2 games so backwards compatibility is irrelevant. |

Posts: 3,238 | The more I use my PS3 the more disappointed I am. 20 minutes to install Warhawk and apply the patch, only to see the game not load. I dicked around with it and deleted the install files, tried again, and I kept getting network errors and getting dropped from the patch download. All told, about 90 minutes from removing the cellophane to getting in my first game. Well done Sony.
10 minutes to install the MLB The Show Demo. WTF? I played it for 9 minutes.

Posts: 4,828 | i'm starting to get a bit more impressed the more i play. games like skate looked horrible compared to the 360 versions but warhawk looks great at distance when you're flying around, amazing detail and i'vehave no problems with games so far. however the 360 is better at almost everything that it does and ps3 loses hands down, but hopefully when they bring that "home" thing in they'll give a total overhaul of the interface and functions which will make the ps3 a LOT better. it's the XMB that's the biggest downside to me
an online system with no invite capability?...come on now!

Posts: 5,094 | Sony is pretty much replicating everything MS has done so I expect them to provide better services in the future but by that time, where will MS have taken LIVE? |

Posts: 3,184 | I picked up my PS3 today and I'm far more impressed with it than I was when I sold it, especially now that I have my Logitech G25 to use. Warhawk is great fun but the learning curve is STEEP. I re-bought F1 because I have my wheel (and it cost almost nothing) and that's far better than it was.
Just a few weeks until GT5:P and Ferrari Challenge so I'm happy as Larry right now. |

Just friggin copy Live! All the work has been done. Now steal it. A year out of date might sound bad to you, but when you're working with a system so incredibly retarded day after day, it sounds pretty refreshing.

The industry is very unpredictable this generation and MS's attempt at aligning themselves with the Wii to compete with Sony is well known. The entire Wii60 concept may actually beget some form of cooperation. MS assisting Nintendo in developing a legitimate & respectable online service in return for possible IP rights or reciprocated cross advertisement isn't a stretch by any means. If MS does assist I think that would be great for Wii owners although they are extremely limited with the hardware provided. People such as myself who subscribed to LIVE a few months following its release have seen it evolve and improve. It wasn't always the greatest service but with years of experience, MS's online service has become the model to which all other online console services are judged. If it wasn't, nobody would be attempting to clone their service like Sony is. |

i only ever played 1 game online and it worked pretty well, the game looked like a pile o poo, but, it ran pretty good. and the wii has an internal wireless connection, which is pretty sweet. |
