Posts: 1,298 | Software Updates On The PS3 Does anyone know of a website that tells you when the next software update is? I ask because you can download the upgrade using a PC and then save the download on to a memory stick, you then plug that in to your ps3 and update it from there, easy isn't it? |

LAME Sony!

but there was nothing to ever notify you an update is available until you check for updates. on the psp it doesn't even autodownload, you have to actually check (or if you get a new game with the newest update it will do it). |

My plan was to find a website that told me when the update was there. I would then download it using my work computer, save it to a hard drive, take it home and then all i would have to do then was install it saving a hour. |

I have no idea why a download takes so long, the last one enabled blu-ray 2.0 format to be playable on the console it also allows DIVX movies larger than 2gb to be played. So maybe it's because theres so much **** in the updates. |

The updates are slow as hell, and I frequently get disconnected from PSN in the process. Game updates are horrible. It took me at least 20 attempts to patch Warhawk.

Sony keep telling us how wonderful the ps3 is so when we fall for it and buy it they kick us off the network because it's too full so surely they must have thought about that before they realeased the console. I don't have LIVE a the moment but i'm pretty sure this doesn't happen to LIVE members. |

It's like a catch 22, although Sony has free online gaming you can never get on it to appreciate it. |
