Part of me is kind of interested, I just can't stand the FC system (not that I've actually tried it). If I don't blow my free time mining for FCs (and I won't), then I don't even get to know who the random people I beat are. I'm sure there's still fun to be had, but it's a tiny fraction of what it should be.

I'm all for protecting the kiddos (though FCs don't), but geez. Where's the opt-out mechanism?
