Gamecube version, very nice graphics, but handled like ass. They got rid of jumping powersliding.
Wii version, well now they got rid of snaking and powersliding just happens now without the left right left right left right movements to enable it.

It seems this franchise has now gone to the casual gamers as well, with a retarded wheel that you turn left and right with.

All reviewers have stated this version is not doing anything different, from any of the previous versions. Sure the addition of online is nice, but its broken of course.

THe best version which they all agree is still the SNES version, but if you want a great online experience, the DS version is actually the best, cause it still combines all those retro tracks and for a change, the online there actually works. Just make sure you know how to snake.

QFT.

I loved the SNES version and to this day it is one of my all time favourite games (and that's coming from me, the mother of all sim whores).

Just Kart 64. It's hard to believe they didn't release SNES in the MKWii buildup.

Someone help me here without makeing a new thread. My buddy up and got a wii, now I want to know if you can play online. At times I read you cant, but you guys are saying online. How is the online system? Can we play Tiger Woods online? MK online racing, do you have a friends list?

Fortunz is probably better to answer this, but since he hasn't i'll try.

The wii has an internal wi fi thing, so it's pretty simple to set up. i only played MOH Heroes 2 online, and it was a pretty standard. pick you game type, map, how many people etc...

wiis have friend codes so you can message other people on your list with wiis, similar to your friend list on xbox.

not all games are online compatible, though, just some. when i played MOH online, it did well. didn't notice many hiccups in gameplay or anything.

hope that helps.

First up, the N64 versiojn of Mario Kart is available on the Wii Shop Channel.
The reason they didn't release the SNES version on Wii Channel is cause most of the tracks (or game) is on the Wii Disc anyways!

Finally, online games I know of, are Mario Strikers, Mario Kart, Smash Bros Brawl. I also heard the online system to all of this games is very average at best.

Also, no voice chat, no messaging and or friends requests,

In my honest opinion, it blows, sorry, but its true.

But dont take my word for it, hire any of the abvoe games and give it a go.
Post your impressions here.

It's not great. As BK said, no VC hurts things. And there aren't many games that support NWFC yet.

Strikers, Pro Evo Soccer (<--worth looking at), BWii, GHIII (though you're better off getting it for 360), Brawl, Mario Kart Wii and Medal of Honor Heroes 2 all have online worth mentioning. I'm not sure what Geometry Wars online mode consists of. And Endless Ocean isn't much a game, but it does let you coop exploration. See the full list. Sadly, Tiger doesn't appear to be on there.

Only Medal of Honor Heroes 2 had the sense to ship without Friend Codes, but even it lack a decent messenger, and had no custom communication. And although it was silky smooth online, virtually lagless play in November, it's gotten really laggy in the past 3 months (I'm pretty sure EA is cutting back our bandwidth/server capacity). Lots of serious players have all but stopped playing it because it's so fracking annoying. I haven't played in almost 2 weeks myself for the same reason.

Clearly the console has the ability to deliver online play (it did for several months with MoHH2), but not many devs are stepping up. Add Nintendo's fear of online to the mix, and it isn't great.

I've only had Mario Kart for a couple of days, but it seems to be working just fine. It's relatively easy to hop into a 8-12 player race with anyone or find friends and get into their races. Someone above said Mario Kart online was broken, you'll have to ask them what they mean by that. I didn't get into it with high expectations, but it's managed to keep up with what I expected.

Thanks for the input guys. It sounds like a no go. I just want it so I can play golf online with my old real life golf buddy who moved. It could be a party machine for my wife and friends but mostly just wanted it for online TW golf with voice chat.

i was just at my niece's house and they had mario kart wii there. i asked them to show me the rainbow road map...it looks sweet! hard, but it looks really cool. i didn't get to play the game at all, and it is nice to know you can use your gamecube controllers with it, and not the wii (i still have my wavebirds from my GC).

there was that other golf game, but the people who brought you hot shots golf...does that have online? think it's superswing golf. not sure if that has online. but, yeah, no voice chat is a big bummer (unless you don't get it anyway, like me on my stupid 360 which doesn't want to work!)

I bought my Wii used and got a wavebird along with it. It's nice for most VC, and my Zelda collection. It's got a nice feel and heft to it. I'm not fond of the c-stick's shape, but whatever.

I intend to try all kart control schemes, except the Classic Controller, including the wiimote+nunchuck, which I kind of think I might like best. It'd be a no-brainer if you could turn off/remap motion controls.

That's the Wii system code. AFAIK, it's only good for sending Wiimail.

The Mario Kart code required to find and play with friends is a 12 digit code, and can be found by going into the online portion of the game and choosing friends from the list. It'll show your code beneath your Mii.

I promised myself I'd never get into this FC bullfrak.

Well, that is pretty damn dumb. so you need 2 codes, both longer then peoples' social security and phone numbers combined? LAME. Well, i don't got the game, so the code no worky.
besides i really just wanted to send you wii-spam from my wiines console.
