i'll be getting this one. besides the first 1 on the supa nintendo, i have really liked them all. i think 64 was the best so far.

My old clanmates were hassling me to get it, so I got it. I hated entering in FCs, but I suppose it didn't take that long.

Never played MK before, so I don't really know what I'm doing. Need to find some kind of guide so I can figure out character bonuses. I also can't seem to figure out how to get in on the tournament.

Rainbow road on the first one was way hard. Totally.

Fortunz...what do you mean you never played mario kart before? how can you own a nintendo and not have played it? hours and hours of fun are to be had on split screen with mario 64, and some hours (not as many) are too be had on the gamecube version.

I had an NES when I was a kid, but no SNES (that was the first Kart, right?), and though I would go by my brother's for some n64 action sometimes, we only ever played Goldeneye. I only played GC once at friend's house, and no kart their either. The Wii is my first Nintendo in some time.

Honestly, if not for the online component, I probably wouldn't have bought MKWii.

And I just played Rainbow Road. Man, I'm dizzy and nauseous.

I'm strongly considering pulling the plug on my Wii anytime that stage gets voted in. I don't think I can take it again.

I used to be really good at MK, but since my gamecube broke i kind of suck. Anyway, mario kart is a great game, probably one of the best "mario type" games.

fortunz, i havne't got it yet. i was a sorta-maybe-good buy the other day and didn't see it there. i can't get it until next friday anyway (payday). if/when i do, i'll add you there. i have one friend on the wii thing there, and you're right whatta hassle. be cool to try to play online with the wii, though, only did it once with the MOH Heroes, and i check the weather with it. hehe.

You didn't let charlie finish, he was probably trying to say Mario, on a whole wheat bun was terrible. And I gotta agree there. You definately want mario on Italian bread.

The random matching isn't so bad I guess. Though I wish there were an easier way to avoid Rainbow Road than turning off my Wii.

Mario Kart Wii was the biggest let down this generation

I played it around my friends and there was a resounding...."meh" when it was our turn to play. Heh...that game got traded in pretty quickly.

did you guys play split screen or just share the control and play online? maroi kart was always fun split screen. but 4 wii controllers is a whole lot more expensive then the 4 n64 controllers.

i really wanna see this new rainbow road now...i used to rule the one on the 64. especially if you could find the short cut, like the one on the wario track.

We actually played Split-screen online and split-screen battle. Whilst the battles brought back the times I played the game on SNES...well, other than that, there wasn't anything worth mentioning. Not much of a "next-gen" title is it?

gamecube controllers are pretty cheap.

I loved all the Mario Karts.

The best version was the SNES version.
N64 version was better graphics and all, and some say was on par with SNES version, but looking back, SNES version IMO was better.
Gamecube version, very nice graphics, but handled like ass. They got rid of jumping powersliding.
Wii version, well now they got rid of snaking and powersliding just happens now without the left right left right left right movements to enable it.

It seems this franchise has now gone to the casual gamers as well, with a retarded wheel that you turn left and right with.

All reviewers have stated this version is not doing anything different, from any of the previous versions. Sure the addition of online is nice, but its broken of course.

THe best version which they all agree is still the SNES version, but if you want a great online experience, the DS version is actually the best, cause it still combines all those retro tracks and for a change, the online there actually works. Just make sure you know how to snake.
