Well the PSX was an expensive peice of hardware, that was released only in Japan. It wasn't worth it's price tag, and didn't do anything that a DVD burner and a PS2 couldn't do.
For a long time it was rumored to come to the shores, but from lackluster sales in the rising sun, it's doomed to never see the light of day here. Which is all for the best.
The PS3 looks amazing, with even a $500 price tag, it will still be cheaper then the PSX. The PS3 has cell technology, and a blue-ray drive, which shows promise.
My only concern about the PS3 is game prices. I don't mind spending $500 for the system, but if I have to spend $70+ on games, I will go broke. They may NOT go over $60, or I won't buy the system. And on that note, it would be the first home console I havn't boughten the day, or near the day, of release sence virtual boy.
I looked into the virtual boy for about 5 minutes and my eyes were watering for a couple hours. It burned my eyes like acid!!! |
