Alright, stop with the hating, if you really have issues with the PS3 controllers, tell us why with a good reason since none of you have tired it.

From my perspective, if I were holding the controller in front of me, I would suppose that that left analog stick would become painful to use after a while (by making the thumb stretch). My next problem is if I am using the analog sticks, the shoulder buttons are going to be a serious reach while my thumbs are working the sticks. Next, no triggers seems like a lack of concept IMO. Also, I do not see an "on" button for the console, not that that is a major setback, but would seem a little obvious for a next-gen controller. The botton layout seems a little spaced out, but I know the size of this is deceptive so this may not be an issue.

Anyway, that is my take on this controller- true, I have not tried it so my conclusions are by no means finalized. But just from a topographical perspective, I am hesitant to label it "good".

Grindstone has a point, there is nothing wrong with it. I actually think that it might be alittle bit more comfortable than the original controller with the shoulder button tucked away ect., but i still have to say, it does look like a rejected weapon for a new Alien movie and if they kept the emphacis of putting the shoulder buttons back but lose the 'Bommerang' taunts by changing the style, then i wouldn't have seen any reasons for someboady to say that it's crap.

to bad they went with the old controller design. i would have totally been shooting people in the parking lot and taking their ps3's if it had come with that sleek boomerang looking control.

That controller looks hideous, it looks like an acessory from the Star Trek wardrobe. I know the current controller is slightly outdated now but surely Sony could've designed it better.

They could have come up with a better controller, but...they were too busy hyping their system instead of designing it better.

Star trek accessories could have only made the ps3 better. it looks like a farengi (or whatever quark is/was) ship. hehe, they could have released a special star trek edition bundled with that stupid star trek game that came out a couple years ago.

Listen bud I have my 360 and my PS3 sitting under my telly as we speak, The PS3 is sleek,black and is very modern looking, goes great my my black samsung telly, then theres my 360 and although online is better on it, I want to put it away under the stairs or something.
Its a big white fisher price looking piece of fugly. It has a massive block of a power brick that locks like a ****ing radiator, the controller looks like a ufo and the ****ty plastic coverings make it look like a 5 year olds toy.

well, i was specifically talking about the boomerang controller, and not the machine itself. the ps3 is a nice glossy black, which i like, but i wish it wasn't so bulbous; like a cardboard box with to much in it, and you can't quite close it.
i wonder if they will change its casing at some point, to something a little more angular.
i agree, the xbox does look pretty cheap next to a ps3. i have an elite, and it's black, so it isn't quite the eyesore the white ones are.
i'm sure a shiny machine looks nice with the shiny black of your tv.

i think the boomerang controllers might have been pretty sweet. they couldn't feel any worse in your hands then the current ones do ( i just never liked the feel of the dualshock controllers).

you'll have to explain cop on to me, so i can feel properly insulted.

ROFL that was entertaining to read and it all would be almost entirely true if you didn't take a massive **** on the 360 controller. UFO? It's design is impeccable. It's a beaut. I do, however, agree that the PS3's aesthetic qualities heavily outweigh the rest of the 360's.
