How do I control the Games?

I recentley booted up Pacman and tried to control it using mouse and keyboard but neither worked so i am wondering how do I control Pacman and the other games?

Most games have instruction on how to play and Pac-man is played by simply using the arrow keys on your keyboard.
No one else has any problem playing the games in the arcade so I can't understand why you find it difficult.
