Those are some impressive numbers. Do you need the hard drive to be able to play this game? It would certainly seem like it. Was there a release date mentioned by chance?

it is supposed to be a launch title

it said "xbox 360 launch day" so this is even better...i just cant wait...i mean its unbelieveable....and i believe the people developing es: oblivion says the knew that a hard drive wasnt going to be standard and it is not required but the "strongly recommend" a hard drive

some other facts include: 16 square miles of game world(above ground only. dungeons not included), 5 types of horses available for purchase, 200+ dungeons, 121 plant types randomly generated in the wilderness areas, 400+ books scattered around the world that you can read, 21 secondary character attributes,8 primary character attributes, 0 of xp points you will earn(skill-bases system), and some weird figure 8 symbol that is sideways next to potential unique character types...i think it means infinite....these a straight from the mag!!!!unbelievable...best game...GOTY hands down!!!

Is it me or does 16 sqaure miles sound a little small?
But otherwise I can't wait for this game

16 square miles on a video game only above ground not including underground is a hell of a lot. It will take at least 1000 hours to complete everything if possible seeing as Morrowind GOTY took 600 hours.
I hope this is a launch title.
And yes co_ray a sideways 8 means infinite. Also if you want to get anywhere in this game you will need a HD, a 64 MB cartridge simply won't do.

small?...thats huge...i mean 16 square miles...thats bigger than anyother game....and the bethesda people said that a hard drive isnt required.but load times will suck and saved games are going to suck too.

I wish I could afford two games so that I could have one to play multiplayer online with, but meh, I'll be occupied enough for a looooooong time.

also like that armor for horses, among other things will be available on xboxlive from the start. There was a really nice picture of some wicked armor that looked black and red, then said something to the fact of having a horse in the same armor...horses can take damage also

I know little on this game, though I did pre-order it. Is it multiplayer, and will it be on Xbox live? Sorry for the ignorance on this game, I've never had a chance to get into Morrowind games before.

Elder Scrolls games are single player RPG's. If Bethesda made an MMORPG based off Elder Scrolls... Yeah WOW, that's all I'm gonna say. :top:

they also have said that you might be able to get new quests off from the marketplace, now that would be great so that you can just keep playing

why would you think so? probably doesn't. Since all games will supposedly work without it minus those with the settings that are from what some said would detect if you have a HDD and take advantage of it. Most likely they can just do like other games (such as Gears of War) are doing and just constantly stream from the disc. Listening to Cliffy B's interview on Gears of War he mentions how they are out to stream the whole thing and have next to no loading screens. So it would reason to imagine that other developers are doing the same especially in light of the fact they know some wont have hard drives. So I wouldn't worry I dont seem them requiring a hard drive. That would cut their possible sales in half and they wouldn't be stupid enough to do that to themselves. :top:

yeah, bethesda reps already stated that a harddrive wouldnt be need but is recommended to speed up load times etc....but the core system can run the game fine

thats what I was thinking. Only games I could imagine that would absolutely MAKE you have the HDD would be like say Final Fantasy XI. Since you would have to download updates for it which for a MMORPG is like every single time you log on lol

I got oblivion reserved, an i no pretty much avery fricken fact bout it , ive read every freakin interview, an im so freakin exicted, but i must say that if morrowind took u 600 hours to complete everything, u need therapy, fast. including both expansions, and every deadric piece of armor, and every little possible quest, and along with making hundreds of thousands of money, and getting mi character above level 40, i jus kept gaining levels, even after 40, and maxing out mi char points, finding every rare item, it came in under 100 hours for me, and i didnt even have internet, so i had absolutely no help or any strategies to help me.

This is going to be the best launch title by far, but I think it will get overlooked by casual gamers due to the length of time required to explore all the quests etc. Other titles will offer a "quick fix" that you just cannot do with an RPG.
I AM Bones
02-10-2005, 06:41 PM
In most games, action packed is a quick fix, but in rpgs, u have to go looking for action, unlike doom 3 wer u get a creature from hell looking u in da face every 2 secs, u go, look around train, then find something to kill. hey, u no wut the funnest thing in morrowind wuz, if u have ur acrobat skill up all the way, u can make a custom spell that is made from tioneides's hoptoad to increase ur jumping skill so much that u can jump accross the entire map.
and u go so fast but dont come down for a couple of minutes, but u will die if u dont use a levitation spell right b4 hitting the ground, i used this to get around very fast, u have to have a lot of money though, and skill, well nyway, u should try it out. and also, yes oblivion will b out on launch day, novenber 22, with its radiant AI, and its havok, and the arrows that can bounce off of rocks, and its most advanced npcs.

I found that some pieces of deadric armor are not as good as other armor, i cannot remember which ones, but if you want the best armor, you have to mix and match.

If you have some armor that you really like, you can go online to the xbox live page on your 360 and download a matching suit just for your horse. I got this info out of the same october issue of oxm. It was awsome.
