What!?! Where do you live, Hawaii? Man, I'm paying $2.59 and I am outraged. It pisses me off to think that it will cost close to $30 to fill my tank in the Corolla.
Oh, and welcome to the forums, although I have seen you around for some time.

Grindstone-I live in Georgia, the problem has been moreso that we're not "out" of gas but our supply lines are severely disrupted due to Katrina and so its lead to a distribution problem which yesterday was so overly stated that it panicked the state and those around us and basically drove the price up. Its at about 3.20 average now which yes SUCKS. It was just 2.60 yesterday at lunch (just lol what a joke it used to be 1.50 lol) So yeah its gonna be bad for awhile till everything is at least somewhat running from the gulf
talk about chewing into our spending money! I imagine this will be a bad christmas season for the economy! I'm still getting my 360 though lol

Yeah, I'm still getting mine (360) as well, but I am not going to be so frivolous with my driving or spending. I remember that typically Georgia has lower gas prices than the national average. Oregon normally is, but with this Katrina problem and the $70 oil barrels, things are looking a little more grim this holiday season. They've informed us we'll be over $3.00 by tomorrow, and that it may be a permanent price for some time. Guess I need to learn how to ride a bike again.

Its $1.25 here in Canada. -_-

viva la Canada XD
Yeah we're normally not as bad as most places, I have a friend in Oregon actually and she always got onto me because her gas was on average about 60 cents more than whatever our prices were, but normally yes we're pretty low compared to the norm. Once they get our supply problem fixed it'll ease a bit I guess, but not much. Its strange to see so many stations closed and or with all the prices down but say one (like they'll only have premium or midgrade)
But same here, gonna get my 360 and just squat at the house, heck I'm looking into a hybrid! LOL I mean I never thought I'd see the day I'd wanna pimp one of those, but the days of horsepower are over its all about "so how many miles a gallon are you getting under the hood" hehe
and coincidentally speaking of bikes my brother called me yesterday wanting to know if he could borrow my mountain bike haha course he is just up the road from where he lives/works so wouldn't be too bad for him

$1.25 in Canada, but that is per litre. So in reality you are paying over $4.00 per gallon. Not to burst your bubble, but as I was up in Vancouver last week and bought gas there, it is not cheaper. And if anything, yours will go up as well.
Yeah, I have a mountain bike as well, but I haven't ridden it in months. I know I could use the exercise, but man, it's so much easier being lazy. But, in the interest if saving a little $$, it may be worth it to start up biking again.

Yeah, ya know I sued to bike to college as well, tehn the bike got stolen and so I had to walk.
I considered the whole "USA will be biking more often" as well. The Asian countries do it, most of Europe does it. The drawback is that at least on the west coast, things are more spacially structured, and for the most part, not flat. Plus, biking in the rain is only occassionally fun, otherwise, it sucks. Still, it would be good for the general health of people (although Oregon was the only state exonerated in the recent obesity study).
