Correct me if I'm wrong but since the xbox360 is going to rely heavily on DSL/Cable. Is it safe to say that most of us are going to keep it on (just like with pcs) in order to receive messages, updates, etc...?? Will it be able to handle being on for a day or two?

I think it'll be able to stay on for one/two+ days in a row, but it'll probably leave you with a big electrical bill if you do that. You can still recieve the messages, updates and such next time you turn on the360 anyway, so it won't need to be on all the time.

Also I would think that it will automatically shut itself down after so many hours if it's not being used.like the current Xbox does.

Is the media center on the 360 the same as the one you get on a pc ?

First of all Xbox doesn't automatically shut down. It has an option to shut down after six hours of inactivity.

As for you Daniel 1989 UK i don't think that the interface will be the same but the main functions should be the same.
PS: Xbox 360 is Media Center Extender which means that it connects with a media center PC and you can stream media through it. Although if you have just Win XP you can only stream music and pictures.

I wouldnnt leave it on. It would just drain the life out of it. To leave it on for the day and shut it off at night would be better
