Madden 2007

Ok I am new at this game, but I love it. Can anyone give me a few pointers on D? I just cant seem to make any plays on D, and my opponent is kicking my butt all the time with the long ball. I try to use cover 2 and cover 3, but that doesn't always work, then I try some blitz packages and I can never seem to get to the QB. Sometimes I do nothing and simply select the opposing D and don't push any buttons and my opponent misses the ball or it's thrown incomplete. Other times I use the switching defenders button and try to blitz but never seem to get him and he ends up throwin the freaking long ball on me...I hate that. :boxing:

Anyway any control hints would be appreicated. I mean can a person do much with the controller buttons on D to intercept on a consistent basis or strip the ball?

Also, why do the blue circles and orange circles appear around certain players...just remember this is not my xbox so I have no manual and my "friend" isn't sharing information....actually I don't think he really knows.

I would try and find a manual (maybe online) or get the strategy book. Madden 07 has got so many features and options it takes a while to get them all down. But once you do the game is much more enjoyable IMO. Otherwise it is just practice, practice, practice. Good luck~

Here's a tip, never be one of the guys who covers receivers (safety, DB, etc...).
I'm usually lineman.
The majority of the time, zone defense is a bad decision. If a lot of receivers are lined up, you may want to use it though.
Learn how to use your audibles. Go out there using what your coach or madden recommends. Then try and get a read on what the offensive play is, and use an audible to adjust if needed.

When do these circles appear?

Go into the practice mode and practice, practice, practice. Pick an offensive and defiensive playbook to use and get to know the in's and out's of them. You can use the same playbooks for any team. Read the instruction book for the uses of each button and try and get a feel for their uses via practice. I don't know of any other things to tell you, good luck.

All good information...funny thing we played pro or pro 2 one step down from Madden and I played much better...ran the ball better but I could not throw much...I got alot of them picked off. But I did win!!

I just bought this game yesterday and I must say it's ****ing badass! I havn't owned or played a Madden game since 2002 on ps1 and I am shocked with all the options. Now on the other hand, I kinda suck. Guess it's going to take a while figuring stuff out. If anyone want's to play via live (who isn't a Madden pro lol) Send my gamer tag a invite "Papst Smear". And maybe get a little better at this game.

Try calling the play prevent, that usually works if not, play with a better team idk??
