hey everyone, i've had my 360 for a few weeks now and i love it so far. i run it on a standard television because im a senior in high school and my part-time job doesn't pay enough and i need to save for college.

anyways, do you guys think it would be worth it to buy the vga cable to use with my HP 15" lcd monitor? the resolution is only 1024 x 768. im happy with the picture on my standard television but i've heard that it looks way better on a monitor, plus when i play dead rising it's the only game that looks a tad bit blurry.

i don't know much about this stuff so any help would be great..thanks.

I use a moster cable vga cable for my 360 and it looks awesome. Better resolution than a sdtv. I say go for it and get the vga cable. The only problem is that you will have to connect the audio to your tv or a surround sound unit or a set of computer speakers.

I use the Microsoft VGA cable. Looks great but that's because my monitor goes to 1028x1024. Your monitor at 1024x768 will surely look better than on your TV. The next question is it worth it to you to play on a 15" screen. Another question is what type of monitor do you have? CRT or LCD? If its LCD the next question you need to ask yourself is what is the response time. This may require some digging around on the net. You should be able to google your monitor's model name and get the specifications, or go to HP.com and see if they have the specs listed too. Anything higher than 16ms and you'll see ghosting or after images and it might not be worth it to go with the VGA cable.

i researched online and found that it is an LCD monitor, however the response time is 35ms. do you think that's too high?

35 eww yeah that is way too high. 16 is minimum 8 is best.

If you can save up a little more maybe you can get a separate CRT monitor for your 360. A good 17" should run around $80 or so, that is if you can find them still.

The idea is nice but with that response time, I wouldn't bother.

Just save up and look around, you may find a good deal on an HDTV some day :)

Oh and I moved your question to the correct forum ;)
