Um. You seem to have several problems, and i will tell them back to you in an order of descending dumbness. First dumbness, Windows ME. Its 2007. ME was over 7 years ago (and it wasn't very good then)...time to upgrade. Second dumbness, You got an IPOD. Now, people will argue this, but it's an apple product, and therefore prone to not working. Finally, the biggest dumbness, Itunes. I know, you have to have it to work your Ibreak, but Itunes....oooo, itunes. My pulse is rising...Anger rising.... stupid apple stuff, never meant to cross the line...pc user's should have left well enough alone. should have left itunes on the icrash computers. it just wasn't meant to be.
so to fix your problem: return your ipod, get a refund, then throw your money in the trash. or, get a new computer with it, even a 200 dollar computer is gotta be better then one running ME still. but, you have to promise not to download itunes or quicktime, or quicktime will download your computer.

You have one BIG problem... Windows ME sucks!!! That and iTunes won't install on Windows 98 or ME. You will need to upgrade to Windows 2000 (SP4), Windows XP, or Windows Vista to run iTunes.
That BIG problem aside - the iPod is a superb player and you'd definitely enjoy it if you could use it with your present setup. :top:
Are you in school - because you can get nice educational discounts on an upgrade to Windows XP... as long as your current PC can handle it.
What kind of computer do you have?
Like computers canada inc. Or someting like that. Man i'm dissapointed with this news.

I've never had a problem with my MacBook or my iPod thank you very much. And yes ME sucks monkeyballs so you're kinda screwed.
ya but can't i just get an xp disc and then juds install it onto my cp
You can if your computer has the proper specifications. I don't know what exactly XP Service Pack 2 (which is at least what you need to use iTunes) requires, but I believe it's somewhere along the lines of 256 mb of RAM, 40gb hard drive, Celeron processor or something. You can the box for XP at a store pretty cheap since Vista has come out, and the requirements should be printed somewhere on there.

You do not necessarily need Windows XP to run iTunes, as Windows 2000 will run it just fine. However I would recommend Windows XP as it is much more reliable & user friendly than Windows 2000.
It really depends on your computer - but I wouldn't recommend running Windows XP on anything less than P3 or equivalent (about a 733MHz or higher CPU), 256MB RAM, and at least 5-10GB of free hard drive space. But it can be installed on a lesser PC if you're really desperate... :top:
If your PC is less powerful than what I described… then Windows 2000 may be the way to go. It's not as 'pretty' as Windows XP, but it also isn't as demanding - so you can install it on less powerful PCs. Plus it's fairly easy to find used (i.e. cheap), and it doesn't have Windows XP's annoying activation crap so it's much easier to reuse.
So do i just have to go to like futureshop and buy xp or 2000

Bah. I have an IPod,so i can talk trash about it, that way i'm not a 'fanboy' of some other mp3 product. Should be called IP.O.S.
Anyway, all this talk about mac and apple products reminded me of this page. ehhe, i think it's pretty funny.
One thing PC users can do that Mac users can't... (http://www.thebestpageintheuniverse.net/c.cgi?u=macs_cant)

If your PC can run it - then I'd recommend XP.
I only mentioned 2000 because its requirements aren't as demanding as XP's are.
You can order XP cheaper online than you can find it @ Best Buy or Circuit City. :top:
