Sonic the Hedgehog on Xbox360

All you old school SEGA fans will like the sounds of this - Sonic the Hedgehog could be coming to the PS3 and Xbox360.

Could Sonic the Hedgehog be rolling onto the Xbox360 and PS3? That's one of the possibilities raised by a deal announced today between Sega and the San Francisco-based developer Secret Level. The two companies announced they are partnering "to re-create a classic Sega franchise" for Microsoft and Sony's next-generation consoles.

While voicing their enthusiasm, executives from the two companies did not identify which franchise would be the subject of the project. "The talented design team at Secret Level has demonstrated innovation in game development and has a history of technical achievements that will help Sega reinvigorate a vintage and highly commercial franchise," said Sega of America president and COO Simon Jeffery. Secret Level president Jeremy Gordon echoed Jeffery's upbeat attitude. "We are excited to be working with Sega and honored to bring one of their classic franchises to the PS3 and Xbox360," he said.

To date, Secret Level is best known for developing the Xbox editions of Karaoke Revolution and Magic: The Gathering - Battlegrounds. Games on its upcoming slate include the Xbox version of Final Fight: Streetwise and America's Army: Rise of a Soldier for the Xbox and PlayStation 2.

I feel as if its the End for sonic,how many more adventures can he go on? Seems like another cash cow to me.

He's a hedgehog...how many years do those things live for? By now he shoulds be dead...he would be about 25 years old now!

Last time I played Sonic was on a GameGear. Thing took six double A's to play for two hours. Great system though.

I'll definitely pick up Sonic when it comes to XBox.. I've been itching to try a 3D version, since I've only played a demo on a DreamCast when it was still new. :)

Sweeet! I love sonic! I used to play alot on the dreamcast, way back long ago. I also enjoyed the Sonic Gameboy game. I cant wait!

I think the new game is going to be kinda cheesey from what i've seen of it, it just looks like they ran out of ideas to put into the game.

It wasn't that great. None of the games after Sonic Adventure have been. In a 3D environment, Sonic moves to fast for the controls to be easy.

In Sonic Unleashed, they added the melee attack based werehog but they went back to the side-scrolling stuff that made Sonic great in the first place. But the difficulty curve is too steep in that game. I could get through a few levels my first try and then I hit one where I've Game Over'd 5 times.

I haven't really enjoyed any of the Sonic Adventures games. The only sonic game i really like on the 360 is the Arcade one that is a remake of the original on the Sega.

i bought the ultimate sonic collection for 30 bucks the other day.. it's fun to play when there's nothing else to be doing but i would not go out of my way to try and play it
