Music Section?

I was just thinkin to myself that we could use a music forum on this site. I'm sure there are other members here who enjoy music as much as I do, and it seems to me we've got sections for things like Top 5 and stuff like that, so a Music section wouldnt be out of place. Might increase activity a little too.

I didnt want to PM anyone in authority about it till I heard other people's opinions, so what does everyone else think?

It won't turn into one of those if people don't jump on bandwagons. If people don't appreciate or like a certain type of music, then don't come into the thread. You won't see me jumping into R&B threads forcing my opinions on others, because everyone is entitled to their opinion at the end of the day, whether you agree with it or not.

I agree with Scott, Dance is a retarded "genre", and shouldn't be considered music.

If remixing someone elses song, by adding a generic bass rythem is classed as "art" in your book, I may aswell go and record the sounds of workshop and class it as a "scratched" tune.

You do not need any musical talent, either. My "friend" likes to make his own dance songs by using computer software and hes' the most music illiterate person I've ever met.

Remixing someone elses song DOESN'T create a new song.

On any other forum board it would indeed be that simplistic though. The fundamental basis of a forum is a place of discussion. If a topic of conversation doesn't appeal to you or doesn't interest you, then the best thing to do is to simply not engage in that conversation, however, on this board, as I just quoted, numerous people immediately jumped on others opinions without consequence.

No one was ever going to win that argument because no one was ever going to back down, but at the end of the day, i'm all about keeping an open mind when it comes to things like this. If you don't like it, sue me.
