View Full Version : Regionalising and Xbox Live
I live in Jpan (and goin to TGS tomorrow). Ill prob pick up a US version of the 360 rather than the Jpanese version due mostly to ingame language and also game selection. Not surprisingly the 360 has been announced as being region encoded (although interestingly many NTSC US games are actually region free anyway so I can play them on my Jpan Xbox) but Im wondering if anyone can tell me if Id be able to use the Live service here in Jpan if I have an american system? Cheers

I don't see why not, it shouldn't be affected as live is a universal service.
there shouldnt be any problems using a US XBOX in Japan on live, unless the Japanese version of live is somehow different

No, you can! I have a friend who is stationed in Japan right now in the Marines. I used to play Mech Assault 2 with him.
I also have played with Japanese people on their server. Once in awhile on Mech Assault some Japs will show up together and make a server, and I usually join cause it's hilarious hearing them talk. One even sent me a clan invite for some reason. Despite the fact I can't understand a word they say I accepted it anyways. Then they removed me awhile later for some reason LOL.
I've also played with South Koreans. They're pretty funny too, except they can speak English sorta. Just a funny accent.
I'm not belittling the Asian accents. They're just funny.
