i think the game is sweet and is gonna give halo 3 a run for its money. the beta definitely had some flaws but was definitely fun. im getting the game for christmas but i will definitely rent it next week. the only concern i have is that people who play all day will have all the good equipment and dominate

I am hoping for longer campaign too, I got my copy of the game pre-ordered and being overnighted to me so I am ready. The beta was awesome so I am sure the multiplayer will make up for any flaws in the single player campaign. I just hope the 6 hr campaign is just a rumor. Guess we will all see come Tuesday.

I love the game. Perks, weapon upgrades, all of it. My only complaints are the server issues, which they'd better be on top of and working on it. The campaign is short, but hard so it makes up for it.

Great game, its just as addictive as COD2. I started the campaign and loved it, then I tried the multi and cant get away from it. IMO way better multiplayer than Halo 3, just more my type of game. Highly recommend.

Its going to be all I play for awhile. The different sights for your gun, player perks, and challenges make Halo look like the retarded cousin who Drinks Budweiser, shoots Deer from his truck, and watches Nascar. My setup is usually M16, Red point laser (not a fan of the other scope), .45 for secondary, Deep impact, Stopping power, and 2 rockets. Its simple but gets the job done. And for the record, Having the Exp bar at the bottom of the screen and having it show +10 every kill makes it feel like its actually your character and not some drone. The overall effect is a cool mix of tactical run and gun and fun arcade action. I suck at writing reviews, the end.

Played the game Saturday and Sunday absolutely amazing. Gameplay awesome, graphics incredible. I've only done a few missions and to be honest it beats Halo3 on every level.

I loved the game, I found the Single player campaign interesting and different which is great. I just wish it was longer as I haven't been online much, more doing SP stuff, so I kind of wish it was longer. Heck even COD 2 and 3 were longer than this.

Still, all that aside, now I am going to see how long it takes to beat veteran mode, so I'll let ya know.

I scooped up CoD4 last night. I'm impressed. It is a great game but it is FAR from the shock and awe I was promised. It maintains that CoD feel yet some of the game play style is reminiscent of GRAW and R6. I wouldn't say it was a blatant knock off but the similarities are uncanny. Even though Live was down last night it didn't matter as my ISP was down as well. I know the MP will be great but I purchase games for SP first and foremost. Anything else is just an added bonus. Many jibber jabbered at the lips about Halo hype, well this game has been receiving just as much lately and those very same people who criticized the "hype" are the exact people who have bought into the **** with CoD4.

I was trying this last night, it was freaking hard.

Its the time to deploy the flash bangs thats holding me up I think.

Also, try doing the veteran level with the plane, thats near impossible, although the utube vid makes it look so easy.

Speaking of Veteran mode, I did Chapters 1-3 last night on veteran. That area with all teh TV's in it was hard to get past, took a few attempts. In the end I used flash bangs to run right through it and hide down a corridor and pick of enemies 1 by 1 till my squad caught up.

I finally beat it at 18.6 seconds but the damn thing didn't register on the leaderboard because live was down last night. Even when it came back online, it didn't sync up, ****!!!

My biggest problem was getting caught up on the edge of the doorways. This ****ing drove me insane. COD2 had this same problem. Even if it was a small piece of **** on the ground, it would totally stop you from walking. Anyway, at the last step (I think 6), once you toss the flash bang in the room, you have to back out and run to the finish. I would always get caught up on a small edge of the doorway. And to add insult to injury, when clicking the joystick to run, it sometimes wouldn't work, WT........F!!!!!!!!! I thought it was my controller but it wasn't because I used another one. I had other minor problems as well but it was mostly accuracy so I won't ***** about that lol. If anything, those flash bangs are a *****!

For my strategy, I used both of the machine guns so I wouldn't have to reload. I didn't use any melee attacks because the it takes too much time and one second is eternity. When running down the steps, I would shoot the target and have the flash bang ready once coming up on the doorway. I would then toss it in and step back for the flash bang to pop, then go in. Once coming up on target 5, I would switch guns, sprint, shoot the targets, toss the flash bang into the last room, step back until the bang goes off, and then shoot the final targets. And of course, run to the finish line.

Long story short, it wasn't easy. I don't see how someone could have finished in 11.55 seconds.

And don't worry Malo! I'll be at the 400 hour mark on COD4 eventually! After my 100 hour detour on Mass Effect! Maybe longer. I tend to get sucked into RPG games. I have about 230 hours on Oblivion... That's over like 13 different characters though. My main has 130 hours though! Wood Elf Archer FTW!

This game to sum it up is one of the best shooters we have out now. Thats not to say it has it's downfalls.

1. Whats up with the having to hit someone twice at times with the 50. cal
2. And the wallmart plastic knifes in the game (not to reliable at times)
3. I find the game can't process bullets at times when two people shoot at each other. If you watch the kill cam it shows the other person you didn't shoot at all even if it showed you did on your screen.

those are just my 3 short rants but other than that, it's a solid game

play it on veteran. that'll add some time to the campaign. you'll get to play several maps again and again. And again and again and again. Then, when you think you might be almost done, you'll got to do it again. because you'll die. again and again. by people you don't see. by 1 shot. again and again.

The campaign is AWESOME! Ive played it 3 times before I played multi. I didnt realize how awesome multi is though. I cant quit playing it. All the perks make it even better. I think its the best online game Ive ever played. Even better than Halo. Never thought I would say that.
For those of you who dont know, when playing online, you can actually change classes in the middle of the game. I didnt know until last night when someone was telling someone else how to do it. Press the start button and it will say change class. You will be able to change guns instead of being stuck with a sniper rifle for the whole game. I find it helpful when people are camping out on top of a building to take them out with a sniper rifle then go back to what ever weapon u were using before.

How do you know who the host is? If you do know, i guess you could go leave a bad mark on his/her rep and hit the avoid.

They're working on the patch for the Xbox 360 version of CoD 4. As far as when it will be released, your guess is as good as mine. Here's a look at what Infinity Ward has said they are adding to the game:

They're supposed to fix that little sniper problem in the next patch. Trust me, everybody experiences it at one time or another.
The stabbing thing doesn't seem to be very consistent. You can stab from varying distances at varying speeds, and 9 times out of 10, the guy with the gun that's shooting somehow loses to a guy who has to pull out his knife, and then attempt to stab and hit a major part of the body in one try while both are moving or jumping or both.

True dat! I was in a game last night...i have never seen so many damn choppers. it was continuous. you kill one, and they had another ready to go. be sweet to get at least an assist point for helping bring it down.

I ran into the same problem last night. I lined up my sights on a dude's head, he wasn't even that far away either. I had the iron longs perk on, I was solid right over the center of his head and he was staying still (sniper). I fired once, not even a hit, I re-sighted while he was now looking for where that shot came from and fired a second time, again, no hit. He found me and took me out. There is NO way either of those two shots should have missed. I wasn't even using the AOG or whatever scope either. Hope the sniper accuracy without the AOG scope gets fixed as well.
