fishwood, ares042, and Diamond (myself), have looked over the Origen Xbox 360 (http://forums.planetxbox360.com/xbox-360-general/883-origen-xbox-360-a.html) thread together, and organized all of the discussed theories provided by the participants of the thread.

We have taken the most likely, and most popular theories and placed them into a poll for everyone to vote on. When the time comes and the secret of Origen reveals itself to us we'll see how many of us were the closest in deciphering it's meaning.

Note: If your idea was not included in the poll it doesn't mean it was a bad idea!

The only theory I have left is, the launch titles...theres nothing else really possible, and I can't think of anything else that Microsoft has to announce....its the only plausible answer.

My thoughts: Kiosks will be distrubted across the world, the official XBox 360 Magazine will debut or www.origenxbox360.com will turn into a site with lists of launch titles and a ****load of new info...

The real spelling for "origen" is Origin. So if you split up the other spelling ori|gen, it sounds like its short for Original Generation. So I think they will reveal that all games now are backwards compatible

*UPDATE*
Seems another popular theory which was not included is the inclusion of Halo 2 xbox 360 compatibility either it being included on the 20g HD or an HD version of Halo2 being released at launch. Many speculate that it will be on the 20g HD, thus the "2 systems one universe" clue. Plus this would spark interest in Halo for those who purchase the 360 even if they had never intended to buy/play Halo they probably would if it was free!!!

Well the origen site didnt change this week as we all know. My guess is they will be providing updates for the page each of the final 3 days on the countdown. Guess we'll know if i'm right in aprx. 13hrs

I hope it's NOT a launch title. I want them to spend as much time as they can on this game and really tap the full potential out of the 360. This is, after all, the last edition of the Halo trilogy, is it not? I'd rather it was something absolutely magnificant!

I voted that it was going to announce the launch games. Not the most exciting news we couild get, and not necessary worth an ARG style advertizing, but perhaps the most relevant news for this time frame.

I still think it is a bit early for the HD-dvd decision. And the backwards compaitbility is already obvious at this point, nVidia and MS have come to an agreement, so backward compatability is inevitable. I never cared about it anyway as I will not be playing a lot of old games on a new system. An Xbox 360 store is not a good idea (sorry, no disrespect towards anyone) considering we already have ample gaming stores out there. Maybe an MS store, but nothing specifically geared towards the Xbox 360.

Nagravision I do not know enough to comment on, but the idea sounds intriguing. The MSN idea could be a winner here to. But, I am hoping that this announcement does have to do with Halo 3. Not that it will be a launch game (not a good idea, IMO), but that Halo 3 is in the works, and it'll be running on all system cores, and that the launch day is slated for Q2 `06- or whenever the PS3 launches. Give us some pics to Ooo & awe over, maybe a little something on the gameplay, and then let us continue our discussions about "what if" and "wouldn't it be cool if". But, I guess we'll find out soon enough.

I'm suprised for the amount of votes for a launch title list! Considering so much info has been released through OXM I find it hard to believe that the site would be concealing this.

You know what. I bet this is just counting down to an official 360 website where it has info on 1 or more of the above. Such as launch titles, the 360 store, maybe a Halo 3 teaser. The more I think about it, the more that sort of makes sence to me.

If it's the official site i still have to stick with the fact that i think there will be some kind of connectivity feature. maybe MSN through the site to XBOX Live. Ya Know like watching Live through the PC while chatting being able to study one of your rivals in Halo 2 while discussing with others, that would be pretty cool actually.

I think it is this the tree represents the labour and nurturing they have put into live and the 360, the small acorns that grows into a strong tree and over time this bear fruit and the fruit represents the end results of microsofts hard work on the 360 & next generation of live coming up to launch date. As for the rabbit i think this is much in the same way the matrix hook up and learn new experiences, be it connecting your ipod psp or what ever to the 360 an you gain a new experience.

I've seen the friends icon on one apple, so this must releate to the friends feature and what you can do with the new improved features of live. The count down is more than likely the release date and the final answer to this puzzle.

The confusing part is the latin phrase on the root + it's connection to Halo and
Master Cheif's past (origin?). That seems the make sense, huh?

But why the h#ll would they put contures of the msn icon (you know the little green guy) on the right top of the tree?
If you haven't seen the icon yet, go check it out on the origen site, on the top of the tree. Or you can look at the original " Origen Xbox 360 " thread , and on one of the pages there are a picture with the origen tree and the icon marked with a red circle.

If we merged Father Camps and Don Rico's ideas, the latin phrase refering to Halo history would definitely a stong part of MS being successful in the console marketing (not successful in terms of profit) and thus would be a root in their tree. The tree being MS as a whole, the tree is in full bloom (console launch), becoming fruitful from the ample 3rd party titles coming. Those fruit will bring in the animals (HA!, new clients in other words), and the goodness will spread. The rabbit are the current playas, fat from the goodness we've already tasted, waiting for more. The smaller rabbit are those new people that are showing an interest. But, this is just light headed thinking on a Saturday afternoon.

Don Rico Have a look at the shape of the friends icon on the xbox, then look at the msn friends icon and i think you'll find it looks more like the friends icon on the xbox than the msn one. Msn one has arms the xbox live one doesn't. It looks more like the live one than the msn.

I think it's MSN, too.

With that apple resembling the MSN guy and the whole chat function, maybe we will be able to communicate with someone on a PC who has MSN.

I can see that happening... I really can. Why not too, eh? Microsoft has the resources to arrange it. Pretty sure they do. You can already register your gamertag on the passport thing (MSN Alerts), so why not?

Anway, I'm thinking that it's probably more then one idea now. In my mind, I can't see it having ANYTHING to do with nintendo. However, MSN, a launch list, and possibly a system launch date change, all seem probable. Possibly something that was told to us, but it's been changed, or inproved, sence then.

I wouldn't expect much on Perfect Dark Zero, as the main website for that game, is saying October 4th.

Hmm...2 days 11 hours left (US, Central time, as of posting this)

So um, my question is, when will we actually find out what it all means? The timer stops at 12pm, by the clock on their own computer. Soooo, is it a certain time zone, or do we all have to wait untill all the timers come to a halt.

What time zone is the farthest ahead? Find that, then add 23 hours to it, and that's when all the timers would come to 0.

Japan is about 16 hours ahead of us, so technically, their that much closer to the end of the countdown.......Though, I don't know if it will do anything...

Maybe the site has to do with Halo 2 coming out for the pc and players being able to play across the 2 platforms of Xbox and PC on one server. I dont have xbox live so I do not know if you can do it now with HALO:CE but I will in 2 months.

Didn't Major Nelson say that they would be releasing the site 'soon' and it was mostly all done. It seems to me like the only really important thing Microsoft hasn’t released yet.

This is whats up. Mabye they will announc MSN support for Messaging and hopefully Video Chat too. Most likely the Web site will Launch. Any one check out WWW.origenxbox.com ? Whats that all about?

To announce the winners of this poll... Da da da dum! Nobody. What a crock. Oh well! Like I said, we should take anything that would have come as a gift, with no expectations. MS didn't get us worked up, we got ourselves worked up. The poll was just for fun anyways. I hope you all enjoyed it. :)
