GTA roll-call: Multi-format owners need apply

The launch of GTA is just a couple of weeks away now and I, like several members of PX360 own both a PS3 and an Xbox 360. Now, I would like everyone to say which version they are getting if they own both consoles. I am currently on the fence for this purchase and to see what other members are doing (i.e. people will probably play online with), it will make this easier.

I'm undecided at the moment, but its more likely to be 360 because my mates on on LIVE more frequently. But I heard a nasty rumour the 360 doesn't have split screen...

I am leaning towards 360 as split screen option is not a factor for me as I hate playing split screen.

360 since they are not developing for Colecovision. The only multisystem port I'll get for PS3 is Soul Caliber.

Most of my mates own a ps3 so they'll be getting GTA on that, but now i've heard there's extra content avaliable on the 360 version so i could be tempted by that seeing as it is £10 cheaper.

I'm sure you can find plenty of 360 mates from Live and this site. Add me on both systems if you like. 360 = Fried Karma, PisSN = friedkarma.

360 probably just for online, Im sure PS3 version will be better polished but I needs XBL, but if the online is crap I'll just trade in 360 version against PS3 version.

Hmmm - kindof an easy one here:

Xbox 360 for the following reasons:
- DLC
- Lead platform
- Better online experience
- no bad rumours surrounding development (unlike PS3)
- better, consistent FPS
- anti-aliasing
- achievements

You're kidding yourself. MS paid $50,000,000 for 360 exclusive content, and by all reports, its fooking HUGE! Sony won't see it anytime soon, if ever.

PS3 is not free of jaggies and other display issues. Look at all the texture popping and crap like that in Uncharted and Heavenly Sword.

fried has it right, for all the $$ dropped for exclusive content, there is no way the ps3 is getting that loving. keep dreamin and huggin that box o potential cuz it aint happening.
the DLC city is supposed to be bigger than san andreas so better start cleanin out your hard drives!!
and btw, im happy to pay for such an extensive add on. developers deserve compensation for their hard work, ya irish cheapskate!

Same here. For me the online is everything and more people are on Xbox Live.

Rubbish,

For one thing - the PS3 can't anti-alias worth a damn - they use a blur effect to soften the image. So for PS3 to suddenly have AA would be a neat trick indeed.

...and as far as previews - show me one link that demonstrates better fps on the PS3. EVERY side-by-side comparison I have seen with 360vPS3 has shown fps dropout on the PS3 side.

Here's a quick list of KNOWN games that have better FPS with full AA on 360 over PS3:

Wait - you think the PS3 DLC will be free???? LOL!
Now who's being naive?

The X360 DLC will probably be similiar to the expansion pack for Oblivion like shivering isles. Why should it be free? Let'em charge for it - I'll pay the price gladly. That's how it works, mate - you want decent gaming, you gotta compensate the programmers.

...but that's ok, I'm sure the PS3 will have LOADS of free DLC such as the ability to play the entire game dressed as a teletubby.
