Soul Calibur, Namco, XBLA
The first entry in the Soul Calibur series of fighting games is heading to the Xbox 360's online Xbox Live Arcade, Namco representatives announced at a press briefing yesterday.

Soul Calibur on Xbox Live Arcade will be presented in HD resolution, and feature all of the standard arcade, training, story and survival modes from the Dreamcast original.

Though online leaderboards will be available, only the original game's local offline multiplayer is planned for inclusion.

No definite release date has been set for the downloadable title, other than "later this year."

Not that I'm a big fan of either SC or the Arcade, it's good to see the library is expanding with REAL titles.

I put lots of hours in on soul calibur 3 on the ps2. is there something special or different about the dreamcast version? or was it picked because it is the original SC? if it's cheap, i might go ahead and download this puppy.
hehe, i had a dreamcast. played Crazy Taxi on it.

That would be worth some MS points if it weren't for the damned D-pad.

Oh yeah, I didn't think about that. Wow, they better bring some damn good analogue integration or this could EPICLY FAIL.

the original DC version of soul caliber was a masterpiece. i really hope they do this one up right. The DC version had an analoge control not Dpad!

Yup, this game was a masterpiece indeed. With the new Soul Calibur about to drop, I'll probably won't download it unless my favorite characters are not in the new one.
