Hi,

I was wondering if any one can help?

I'm try to connect my Xbox360 to my pc through my netgear DG834GSP 54mbps router/modem via an ethernet cable, i have my PC in one ethernet port and my Xbox in an other. I can connect fine to Xbox live and play online as much as i like, but when i try and connect to my PC using Windows media player 11 or Zune (i havent got windows media center) i cant pick it up. Ive got all the file sharing software turned on, but it just won't find my xbox to share.

Any ideas? or am i being thick?

Cheers

Hi there, have you followed through the instructions by Microsoft step by step ? Give them a go and make sure you aren't missing out any steps. Let us know how you go.

if you have a pirated version of Windows/whatever. it won't work. just thought i'd mention it.

roscoe - this will sound utterly ridiculous but it's true. Provided you've allowed all the necessary ports, etc. - chances are you've already done what you needed to do.

1. IGNORE THE TEST!

2. Goto your music library (or whatever you're trying to pick up) on your Xbox 360 and then change the source - you should see (hopefully) the Zune logo and your computer name. Select it and away you go.

If this doesn't work - you'll need to ensure that all necessary windows services are enabled. (sorry don't have a link but google it) and ensure that your Xbox is not being blocked from your PC as it needs to make an incoming connection.

if you have software that connects - use it!
It's a pain in the ass so use whatever works.
