Yeah the shoutbox needs to cleaned. But thats not whats causing the current current problem. Theres not enough bandwidth on the forums and they are getting clogged up very easily

well there was usually more shouts than that when he cleaned out the SB anyway, but even so, when the shoutbox used to get clogged up it never affected the site this badly

it's not the sb - i'm fairly certain.

It's likely some process running such as a spam filter, cleanup process or archive function that is causing the problem.

Someone with decent server knowhow needs to go through the server manager and check the logs and put some scheduling into play.

Actually it's probably not the server, it has something to do with the forums. Head on over to Complex Magazine | Buy.Collect.Obsess. | The original buyer's guide for men (http://www.complex.com), they are on the same server as us but do 500x the traffic and it loads really fast....we need to clear something or update the forums, either way it is being looked into by people that are really good at what they do.....

for all intent and purposes, it's a tech degree - Ontario colleges weren't allowed to give them out as degrees until the year after I graduated - they wanted an additional $2,500 from me to write an equivalency exam to which i flipped them the bird because I had already been there 4 years.

Didn't matter in the end - got a high powered job with RBC in the Foreign Exchange office with a team of developers under my command (all of which had 'degrees')

...and besides - any idiot can get a degree. It was precisely the awards and recognition for excellence which earned me my shot.

I've met all manner of people with varying education from high school to PhD and the most highly 'qualified' guy I ever met was completely f**ing useless at his job. Judge people on track records and experience and you'll never go wrong.
