No. I don't really see the need for a warrenty. Just keep me recipt and send it back to Walmart if my 360 has a problem.

Manufacturers know the lifetime of their product. As with technology such as this, assuming there are no defects from the factory, it will last at LEAST 3-4 years with constant use. When we buy new servers where I work, the standard warranty is 3 years for ALL components in it. The reason the 1 year warranty is offered at a charge is because the console runs a higher risk of accidental damage.

but also its more to make a 360 than sell 1

I used to work in an electronics Dpt...extended warranties for the most part are a waste. Yes you'll have those machines that crap out after 6 months but I haven't spent money on a extended warranty for many years

I probably will, or would like to. I would be ultramatic pissed of my 360 crapped out and they wouldn't take it back.

It's only $40 for a $400 investment, I would rather know I am safe for 1 year for $40 then have to spend another $400. I know it's unlikely anything will happen, but I would rather make sure.

Nah, I'm going to have to rely on my balls for this one. If you make a big enough scene about it breaking down after the warranty they'll probably replace it anyway (conditions apply).

I bought an extended warranty for my big screen (CRT rear projection) for 5 years. Lucky for me, I had to use it. It is a Sony (don't flame me) and I had to replace a gun inside. It was free witht the warranty. My XBOX 180 has always given me problems with the disc drive. It is tollerable for most games. If the drive keeps spinning and the game has to load off the disc it actually works better. If the game loads to the hard drive and the DVD drive spins down when it tries to spin back up again it crashes. I have just been biding my time hoping the 360 will play most of my XBOX 180 games.

As a side note my friend bought the orginal XBOX at Best Buy with a warranty. When the price dropped a $100, he took his box in (there was actually something wrong with it) and they gave him a new one plus the $100 in price drop! He went ahead and bought a 3rd controller and game! I purchased my BOX at BB as well and 3 months later they had the price drop to $199. When I inquired to BB if I could bring mine in (the afforementioned disc problems) and get a new one and the refund, they said only if I had bought a warranty.

It is for reasons like this I will be purchasing a warranty.

I never buy extended warranties. I rarely have problems with any electronics. For the most part these warranties are like throwing money down a rat hole. Over 90% of all problems occur in the first few days of operation while the standard warranty in effect.

SAVE YOUR MONEY!

Hey dudes

I live in the United Kingdom and it is standard that you get 1 year warranty on all electrical goods. Finally an advantage when it comes to living in the U.K.

Just worked it out and we will pay more for Xbox 360 than U.S. gamers pay for a 360 and warrannty.

LIVING IN THE U.K. SUCKS FOR GAMERS !!!!!!!!!
