Sorry... no camping for me. I did that with the first Xbox and didn't get any sleep for like 50 staight hours. I pre-ordered from EB this time around.

What's with camping out? I've live in Nebraska, and game store in town opens at midnight for big releases. Also, all the walmarts are 24 hour stores! I'm suprised that others would have to camp out.

I'm going up to the store around 10pm, and picking it up at midnight. I already pre-ordered, just incase.

oh I pre ordered mine too...but for a system launch it is hard to resist not being there for the opening of the store doors. I have been at stores for Xbox, Dreamcast, and N64...and soon 360 if I have anymore paaid time off...lol

I live in a smaller community of about 21,000 people, however the 18-25 age group makes up a high percentage of the population. Releases at the local Wal-Mart are usually hectic. It might be interesting to show up and see the excitement.

I work for target (blah) but my supervisor is the head of electronics, and im cool with her so im lookin to pick up two ($800 ouch!) then sell one a couple weeks later. tryin to pick up a few extra bucks (like 200, that would be nice...) no waiting for me, just walk back to the office and pick em up, yes!

My sleeping out days are over...what I did is I reserved (4 )360's
then I sell my pre-order.I already sold 1 for $100.00 and it was in the paper
for 3 days.I did the same with ps2 and ended up with a free system.If you are among the first 10 to reserve your 360 most stores will give a voucher
for you if your system is paid for in full.I have a voucher from game crazy and
gamestop,noone else would do it.

I'm camping 1 day after launch because I am off that day from school. No one goes to get game systems at my local Wamart. They also put games out early. So I really have nothing to worry about. I love where I live! :) :elefant:

yea my wal-mart opens at 7, but i most likely will take that day off from whatever i have.. school, appointments, work.. and be in front of the wal-mart door at 5:30 with my face glued to the glass for the first sign of light.. and of course ill have to get a 2nd wireless controller 3 games.

not all walmarts are open 24 hours, but anyone who shows up at midnight at any store open then should be fine, as most people wont think to do that. thats not saying that you wont have any competition at midnight , but if u show up at 11 pm, u should be fine. 99.999% of the kids getting it will have parents not letting them go at midnight, and most of the other people wont think to/ will be to lazy.

sorry double post, anyway i have a new idea, go online at midnight of the 22 to any store that opens in the morning and has instore pickup, and order your 360 for instore pickup. then ur guaranteed one, it o too good an idea to be true. do u guys think itl work?

i live in sacramento california. When the xbox1 came out i camped out at the local 24hr walmart. i got to the wal mart at 5pm and there was already 7 people ahead of me in line. by 8 pm there was 30 people in line. I will be at my local walmart at 4pm on the 21st. got my folding chair and my ipod ready. :biggrin:

I'll be there with a friend or two. Lucky me, the Wal-Mart I'm going to is in a small town, have several friends working that night, and I'll be able to walk around the store until it's time to pick it up and walk out. It actually should be a good night.

Well, really, there's no reason to camp out unless you don't have a pre-order. I camped out once for the PS2 launch, and oh boy, that was a huge mistake. For one, it was raining like a mofo that night, and all 25 of us sat on the sidewalk in downtown San Francisco for about 11 hours. The line started to form around 11pm when the store closed, and we waited in the rain until the store opened at 10am!! At least I was 2nd in line.
But, I caught a nasty cold that night, realized that the launch lineup for PS2 was utter crap (with the exception of SSX), all to have my crap console break after the first week. What the hell.

Since then, I've always preordered; camping just wasn't worth it. Would it be worth it for the Xbox 360? For the hardcore and desperate, (who haven't preordered) hell yeah. Just go prepared, in case you have a long night like i did. Bring plenty of food, caffeine, and warm clothes and/or blankets.

Wow, sounds exactly like what I'm going to do, except I'm going with my aunt or my friend's mom. Yeah, I live in Alaska, no one cares about the Xbox 360 here. It's either, wtf is an Xbox 360 or I like SONY and iPods. Yeah, I know only two other people who are planning to get it on launch, and I haven't seen any hype over it at all, so I plan to be able to sit in a car for a few hours until it opens, then walk in and grab one; it's too cold to wait outside. -20, brrr...
