Let's see, this is a Xbox 360 site and you've done a poll asking which is better for gameplay,360 or a PC.
Considering everyone is hyped up for the release of the 360 what do you think everyone is going to vote for?

I should really lock this post but going to leave it open for now to see how the voting turns out.

Playing games with the 360, you don't have to worry about not having good enough hardware to get the full game experience.

It depends on the type of game your playing. I perfer to play RTS and RPG games on my PC, I am about 50-50 with FPS between the pc and xbox and for sports games I like the XBox.

If you have an old pc then I can see how it could get on your nerves to wait for the games to load but I just started up again Sega GT 2002 and that is taking way too long to load. I go back and forth between my pc and xbox. To pick I would say pc but I built mine with an AMD 4000+, ATI X800 XT PE and 2 1GB Ram Chips.

One major plus I would say PC has over the XBox is that if your into modding games. You can find some program out there to change the aspects of your gaming experience but the minus to that is that people love to mod games to cheat on them but I have seen some pretty cool mods.

both, consoles are nicer in that they are cheaper and developers dont have to worry about making it look good on multiple style machines. On the flip side I like the pc aspect of having mods to games and large community support in that way which gives pc games sometimes a much longer lifespan. Take Battlefield 1942 and the Desert Combat mod for example. I played DC for over 2 years back in the day and hardly played the actual game 1942 lol. Just one of those things you can't do on the consoles. But overall PC gaming becomes to expensive and isn't my mainstream anymore

Mods to make PC gaming worthwhile. Does anyone remember Infiltration for the 1st Unreal? Best mod ever...

The two offer a slightly different gaming experience, with a console being more likely to feature games that you can 'dip-in' to and a PC more likely to feature longer play time, though of course there is now a lot of overlap with the same or similar games being offered on all platforms.

For pure gaming power with money no option then a PC wins hands down, with current dual processor dual SLI graphics cards with 2GB Ram already being able to give the Xbox360/PS3 a run for their money, with games such as Call OF duty 2 and Quake 4 for the Xbox360 being straight ports of the upcoming PC versions.

Within a year, by the point that coders are beginning to fully exploit the Xbox360's power, hence surpassing current PC's capabilities, PC's will have moved on, with 4 processor cores available and the Phys chip to add in, together with the next Gen DX10 unified shader graphics cards, and a PC will blow away the Xbox360 and PS3, but will also cost 5 or more times more than the console.

For a top notch, cheap(ish) gaming experience then the Xbox360 is going to be unbeatable for a few years, but will be beaten in terms of outright power and capability by top of the range PC systems within a year.

PC for Counterstrike. A console for just about everything else.

I want a common platform to play others with online. No constant upgrade cycle for me.

Xbox 360. I like not worring about my graphic card and hard drive space every time I buy a game. I have played Half Life 1 and 2. 1 was nice on my PC but, 2 sucked my PC. I had slow downs and graphics were not to par with the pics I saw on the internet. For me the consoles are the best.

Its best to play games on the 360 becuase PC games with the mouse and keyboard are awkward to control.

I prefer xbox, you just turn on the system, put a game, and start playing

Depends on the games.
Like I love playing the Monkey Island series on my PC but I would hate doing that with my Xbox, and it is the opposite with Project Gotham Racing.

Overall I prefer Xbox because of the simplicity of plug in and play and there is no need to upgrade (unless you buy the Core package) every year etc plus the forecast of games on Consoles is usually better than PC.

Purely for games then a games console would be the choice.
The clue is in the phrase "games console".

PCs are good only if you have the latest set up.

Can you imagine having to buy a new graphics chip for 360 every 12-18 months so you could play the latest games ?

No, didnt think so !

okey for games like rome total war and any other rts u need to play them on pc or else it would be really akward to controll people with your controller, but in general i like my consoles better then pc, p.c is like steroids every few months u have to pump more weight , so a console it is!!!

PC's cost alot of money to upgrade all the time but with a console you buy the hardware and you don't have to fork money out of your wallet to upgrade your computer for this new game that you've payed 65-80 dollars for already.

I say xbox360.

I've been a PC gamer for years ( my last console was a sega 8 bit :) ) but the i'm starting to get fed up with the current state of upgrades of pc's. The money that goes in that is large.

More so, now with the xbox360 ( and possible ps3 ), we are at a point, that the games look so realistic, that its hard to see why you need to upgrade beyond those graphics ...

I dont forsee any major graphic enhancing releases in the next few years, that cant be handled by the xbox360 ( and ps3? ).

I like both.... I have a tendency to switch between the console world and the PC world... PC games did look very nice with the high resolutions and all... This time around, the 360 will support high res so I might end up playing it on my PC screen (cause I don't have and can't afford a hi-res tv yet!)... I believe that once I get a hi-res TV, I might end up playing only the 360... Plus with all the online support and all, it'll feel just like being on the PC !

I like both platforms but for so many people to the upgrades cost too much, well guess what the xbox360 is an upgrade and not that cheap. If you look at the specs for the xbox to xbox360 you can see that the video card has jumped from a 64MB to 512MB card. The XBox360 had to catch up to the pc and in a year or so I am sure that you will be able to get 1GB cards for the pc. If you purchase a cheap upgrade video card or go from a 32mb board to a 64mb board instead of a 256mb which would only cost less in the long run than sure you are going to need a new card sooner rather than later. I have had my card for a couple of months and it already has hdtv. Just 4,370,683 seconds to go till launch. Give or take a minute.

Actually the launch date means nothing to me. There was no launch date announced when I pre-ordered my xbox360 so I put regular shipping. I know a noob thing to do. A couple of days later when they announced the launch date and I come to find out that I will get mine some time between Nov 26 to Dec 1. I usually get lucky with shipping and get things earlier anyways so we will have to wait and see or should I say, I will have to wait and see. Maybe I will stop by my local Wal Mart at midnight and see if I can pick one up then and cancel my pre-order.

I never understood the hype surrounding pc games, except when the 3dfx cards first came out.On the pc the games look great but the gameplay suffers
unless your playing shooters.
