Today, I went to gamestop store to reserve an Xbox360 but they told me that none are available until after christmas.
Where can I reserve one without paying the whole amount?
I also dont want any of those high-end packages/combos
Can anyone direct me to the right place?

Go camp at a Walmart, Target, Best Buy, or Circuit City.

i agree w/ Pac-Mack...EB and Gamestop are not taking preorders anymore...so go to a Walmart or someplace like an electronics chain store..

this is why you have to pre-order as soon as you can

Your best bet is best buy...they will be giving out vouchers about an hour before the store opens so get in line, the store said they wont open at midnight but may open a little early in the morning. They will let you camp out
starting at 5pm the night before but no earlier.(my friends are going then)
Remember those are the rules of the best buy in buffalo, they may be different at your store.Wallfart is allowing campers but they have no organization and it will be a free for all when it opens.

yeah guess you'll know better for the next xbox...lol...I have only gone to a Department store for one of my systems at launch and that was the N64, which had no great launch considering....but I happened to get the last one at Walmart. About 20 of us standing there and the clerk just basically handed it out, so I grabbed it...lol

GameCrazy stopped a few days ago.. theres not much place left, and my *** they wont be able to get any in till after christmas , its suicide for MS not to produce more then the launch first wave...

MS could produce more on the first launch if they delay the launch for a month. If I recall, I heard that the US is getting 1,000,000 units which means on average 20,000 units per state. I am not sure if our good friends to the north are getting part of the million or if they have their own # but I hardly think MS is committing suicide. I am sure DarthDealer would say that MS is commiting suicide if they delay the launch. Damned if they do and damned if they dont.

Everyone in my area is sold out of pre-orders. The local Best Buy said that they are NOT doing pre-orders and it will be a first come, first serve on Nov. 22.
I'll be taking that day off work to spend the night at Best Buy, most likely.
