Yup, I can see it getting huge as well. There will just be so much stuff available there and it will really add another dimension to online gaming

It is kind of like a shop, but I'm not too sure how many people will like typing in posts with their controller!

You need a credit card in order to use Xbox Live, so any charges will simply be billed to this I guess.

Im guessing it will be just like the halo map downloads. You choose what you want to purchase, then you download the stuff to your xbox.

As Matt said you need to set up a Live account using a credit card, any merchandise you buy through the market place I would expect would be charged to that. Then they'd just dispatch the items to your house. I can't remember if your home address is inputted in when you sign up for Live, it's been along time since I did it, but I'm sure it is.

Downloadable content will just be as it is now, you pick the game and the new content and download it to your HDD. You pay for this d/l content with the credit card you used to register on Live.

umm but i heard that credit cards will no longer be acquired fr silver and gold. its in my magazine and wat do they mean by that?

I don't know what they mean by that. Currently MS require you to input a Credit Card number into your account profile so that you can be charged for your Live subscription (after the first year runs out), and to pay for any premium downloadable content.

Ben could you type out exactly what the magazine says, word for word, so then we maybe able to understand what it is trying to say. If MS aren't going to take credit card numbers then they need to come up with an alternative way to pay for all your Xbox360 Live purchases.

cheers

I also read on a web site(can't remember which one) that Microsoft were looking at alternative means of paying for Live on the 360,but didn't say what these will be.Maybe you'll be able to set-up a direct debt.

*UPDATE*
Not too sure about paying by direct debt, but I have found out that you will be able to pay for 360 gold service with the following:
Credit cards
Debt cards (I known this has been a problem for some people wanting to get on Xbox Live)
Cheques cards
Pre-paid subscription cards (like the one you get in a Xbox Live starter kit)

Pre-paid subscription cards sounds like a really good idea, like the ones they have for cell phone services and stuff.

it has a chart of wat offline, silver, and gold and if there is an X under each of the categories, it works fr that categorie. so one of the things say " Credit Card no long required for xbox Live access." and all of the categories have X's fr it. does that help?

What they possibly mean is for the Silver you wont need a credit card. Im pretty certain you will for Gold access

Xbox Live Marketplace is another way for Microsoft to pull in money. I'm not a fan of buying someone else's custom t-shirt for Tony Hawk games. The feature I am most attracted to is downloadable game demos and trailers (so long as their free). I was actually the person (or one of the people) who submitted this suggestion to Microsoft when they asked Xbox Live subscribers want they want to see come out of Live via www.xbox.com.
