That is impressive. I don't have that much money nor time to play even half the ones I am interested in. So we'll need a thread dedicated to game reviews per planetxbox360's perspective.

Yeah a game reviews section sounds awesome. Also I was informed by papa smerf that supposedly MGS4 is coming to the 360 as well.

I don't see why it can't come to 360...if it did then it would definately affect sales of the PS3.

Metal Gear Solid:4 on Xbox 360... man, Sony is really losing its "exclusive" badge real quick. Those Sony fanboi's better hope that Killsone 2 is all that and a bag of chips, because it is becoming less and less appealing to be a PS3 consumer.
Of course, I would have a hard time too if I had to justify buying a more expensive console which was inferior to a cheaper M$ product, and then claim superiority while knowing full well I'd been screwed. Sony, your hegemony in the gaming industry is falling.

When you think about it all Sony have left as big title exclusives are Gran Turismo, Devil May Cry, Killzone and Tekken. Some of there other big AAA titles have started to migrate to other consoles, games such as Resident Evil, Final Fantasy, Metal Gear Solid and Gran Theft Auto.

Pro Evolution Soccer as well - that was another selling point that is lost.

Soon there will be no real reason to own a Playstation at all, and more people will see sence of owning a Microsoft or Nintendo console.

I didnt like Killzone very much... or devil may cry and i think PGR is better than gran turismo IMO. So most of the games i did enjoy on my PS2 are now on the xbox (i.e. MGS and Final Fantasy) So i would say that xbox has a clear exclusive advantage.
BTW did anybody here anything on which console will get NINJA GAIDEN 2 yet?

Nothing has been announced yet about NG2 by Team Ninga. At the moment Team Ninja are working on five games for the 360, namely DOA4, DOA XBV2, DOA Code: Cronus, Project Progressive and an unanounced/secret title. Unless the unanounced/secret title is NG2 then they have thier work cut out developing those 5 games as it is, so I wouldn't expect to see anything on NG2 for a while yet.

After the dismal GT 4 ofline i have lost all intrest in GT games.
Tekken nothing to right home about either all next gen Tekkens are dreadfull
MGS 4 after the boring MGS 3SE i will also give this a miss
Final Fantasy XI is on the 360 which should have been in europe on the ps2 over 12 months ago but faild to apear thanks to no HDD in europe. Sony know how to screw the fans.
Resi on Xbox so may be no ned to get a ps3
GTA also will goto 360
Devil May Cry not played 3 as 2 was pittyfull
Killzone more like flipping deadzone it was that bad so the next one to guess will not be anything speacial
My intrest in the ps3 has gone down a lot since E3

Yup! I do believe the time of the "all-Sony-exclusives" is over !!! Even for big shot titles !!! And on top of that, even the the "all-sony" games like GT4 have found their match on other consoles !!!
Sony is not getting away with this war so easy !!! Only thing that could (and probably will) save them is their past reputation... Although some of us have finally opened our eyes (like me) and are now aiming for a new console that will have more appeal and freshness : The 360...

But the thing your forgetting is that most of the ports of Sony "Exclusives" havent really worked like MGS and GTA which were both made with poor controls and the graphics werent exactly maxing out the Xbox's capabilities, but those are made by other companies who can put any game on any other console if they wish to but you will always see them first on the Playstation.
PS since when has MGS4 been announced for 360 its all lies and rumours

The all-Sony's exclusive area is long gone.
i.e. Take a look at the top10 charts of xbox and ps2.
Most Xbox games are exclusives and PS2's games are out on xbox even if they're not that good.
My opinion is that the only thing that kept PS2 alive and ahead is Sony's reputation.
Only games Sony has for exclusives are GT and Tekken which are made by her. All other (except maybe Devil May Cry) are sooner or later released on other platforms.

There was a preview of Gaiden 2 in OXM a few months back, so I guess it;ll be on xbox. It's also good to see Fable 2 coming, it better be longer than the last one.

Killzone is an awful game, not even worth mentioning as an exclusive title. Ugh.
The 360's exclusives are clearly superior to anything the PS3 can offer.
Could this be the end of the "Playstation" dominance?

C'mon man if there is one game worth mentioning for PS3 is Killzone.
It looked pretty cool if though it was pre-renderded.

You know the funny thing is I go around asking people what they thought about the E3 footage (okay I don't exactly GO AROUND like a jehovas witness or anything, I mean just in techy type conversations around the place). I ask them what they thought about it all. Then I ask them if they knew that PS3's killzone 2 footage was pre rendered CGI movies, running off entirely another system, despite Sony's claim that it was the PS3 and REAL TIME. None of them answer yes!
Nobody seems to know about this... Why? I have no idea. But I'm spreading it around to everyone interested as much as I can.
IMO, if every console gamer in the world could read these forums, a lot of peoples minds would be changed JUST based on all the info supplied here.
I know I came here, knowing what I wanted but still with a sence of doubt. Now, I've read all the juicy info and facts from these forums and links to the articles etc etc and, as I've stated before, even a mafia of sony fanboys couldn't change my mind.

Oh, I even referred a few new people to these forums. I basically told them it's an amazing place for reading up on next gen stuff and there's a lot of tech info supplied here. I haven't found any better forums yet. 1up.com forums being the worst ever. 1up.com is like the tripple wopper of biased and fries on the side. I'm not kidding either. It's just rediculous. I'll never refer anyone to that site.
Sony is relying too much on the "fan base" which will wither away

Yeah, exactly. It already has been. If they would just give people what they wanted. Fulfilled their own promises. But since when have they ever? From the start i's been this way. Just finally now, more people are finally waking up to this. I hope enough people wake up in the next few months before they decide on making a bad desicion about their next gen console. If not, oh well. I'm happy with what I got so ... *shrug*

This is what XBOX 360 has that is better when compared to it's PS equivalent.
Halo 3 > Killzone 2
Fable 2 > FF (if you like more action and more choice in your RPG's)
Forza > Gran Turismo
Kameo could be better than a Jak or Ratchet game
Ubisoft has traditionally made the better Splinter Cell and Ghost Recon games for the XBOX while the PS2 versions were inferior, especially when it came to the online set-up.
Ninja Gaiden > Devil May Cry hopefully NG2 will be a 360 exclusive
Project Gotham Racing 3 > any other first or third party effort on PS
DOA > Tekken (at least in terms of graphics, I haven't played Tekken only seen it)
I think Sony has it's work cut out for them on PS3. I think the finally tally will see the PS brand lose ground this Gen.

Couple corrections there Fable is nowhere good as most Final Fantasy games. Sorry but I took my copy of Fable back after a couple weeks. It was boring to say the least. None of the things promised were in the game. Heck I'd rather have played my old FF7 copy on the PS1 another round than Fable. It just wasn't all people made it out to be. But then again to me fable wasn't really an RPG. More like an action game that let you power up. But it didn't have the size and scope of most RPG's. Also for the DOA/Tekken DOA always looks better but it can't touch Namco's fighting mechanics. Both Tekken and Soul Calibur have much deeper and better gameplay/depth. One thing I've always hated about DOA is its like this great potential wasted on just making pretty graphics. The gameplay is just repetitive because they simplified the fighting to where theres really no reason to practice. You should head to a tekken tournament sometime those are crazy. You can see the amount of dedication, practice, skill, timing just everything that goes into it. Whereas any DOA party I've been too is a button smash gone wrong lol. Agree with most of those others but DMC is still fun I dont compare it to Ninja Gaiden. There the same in a sense but well if I want to be a Ninja I play Gaiden if I want to shoot things I play DMC. So really different when it comes to that sense.

The problem with Fable, in my opinion, is that the game was too ambitious for the console. They wanted to do so many things with it but they were already limited by the hardware. I really have a lot of faith in Fable 2 (rumored to be using the Unreal Engine 3), they won't be hardware-bounded anymore and I'm sure we'll see what the MS team is capable of this time.
However, if you want to compare a RPG with the Mighty Final Fantasy series, then you'll have pretty interesting choices with Enchant Arm and Microsft's hidden jewels: Blue-Dragon and Lost Oddysey. Those games are shaping to share a lot more aspects with FF series than games like Fable or Oblivion for example.

I agree on that, lets hope this time ninja Gaiden put more effort in gameplay than graphics. Nevertheless, we've already had a Sould Calibur version in the Xbox, and given the massive support for the 360, i wouldn't be surprised if I see the game again in Microsoft's console.

That's totally right, DMC doesn't hold a candle against Ninja Gaiden, one of the best action games ever.
As you can see by the news announcing new exclusive games for the 360, or once exclusive games/companies now developing for xbox and things like that it's clear that the Playstation's biggest advantage in the last generation won't be held in next-gen anymore. Microsoft has done their homeword by moving their pieces with the developers by offering them a superb powerful console as well powerful development tools that will make their lifes easier.
The 360 looks better every time.

I'm interested to see some stuff on Blue Dragon since I listened to Major Nelson's podcast about seeing a sneak of the game at TGS or something. I've seen the concepts and was always a fan of that guys character designs (even though I dont really like Dragonball Z I do like the character designs) And yeah the Enchant Arms trailer looked nice so I'll probably give that one a go as well.
If they can make Fable more open ended in a sequel to where theres more to do and your not like just on roads that'll be great and I'll be into that for sure.
for the new DOA I'll of course give it a shot. But I am still afraid even with the tweaks he mentions that it wont add much depth. I just wish they'd use more buttons rather than "this is the punch attack this is the kick attack" button idea if you know what I mean. If they could change that around somehow it'd help tremendously. But maybe they already did something to address that issue. I do know they said they made counterattacks harder thanks GOD because I thought just hitting one button and totally reversing on a guy was sorta a joke. But it will of course be pretty lol.
Yeah Soul Calibur was on Xbox and so I'd say many can see how much greater a game like that is as far as gameplay and depth. Really shows what namco can do. They dont always go for the best looking game but to me they put all the effort where it matters and thats on how the game plays and the balance yada yada.
But yeah good games all around. I played the Call of Duty 2 demo last night on my PC. Nice looking game I had all the graphics turned up using my pc. I have to say though it doesn't look very "next gen" so I'm in a way a little disappointed but I keep it in perspective since these are just 1st gen titles. I hope to see a lot more improvement soon (aka I hope Gears of War comes out really really soon lol)

We should wait for the 360 version. Remember that the PC demo was intended for PCs from Radeon 9800 and above, and in the 360 version they have one much more powerful machine as standard.

29-09-2005, 10:46 AM
yeah I was thinking about that too. And could notice a few textural differences (mainly on the characters) when I was viewing screenshots from the 360 version. So hopefully the game running on the 360 and in 720p on my plasma will paint a prettier picture :) which the game DOES look really nice. It just doesn't at present in the demo blow me away as far as compared to anything else I've seen. In fact battlefield 2 on the pc kinda destroys Call of Duty ^_^; now THATS what they should put on the 360. I'd play BF2 on that all day. And I know they are putting Battlefield 2 modern combat on it. But Modern Combat is a different game......so I'm hoping maybe they'll decide to put a straight port of the PC version on the 360 which maybe thats what they are really planning.

I agree, both it and Lost Odyssey are the titles I'm most interested in hearing more about.
It's interesting that a lot of places are listing them as potential launch titles. Unless there are teams working with the developers on regionalization as the game progresses it's just not possible to release them outside of Japan during the launch window.
I have to say though the way Microsoft is managing this launch I wouldn't be surprised at all to see these in all territories in a remarkably short period of time from the Japanese launch.

now with 360 targetting the hardcore gamers, at least a year before PS3 is even on the market, we steal PS3's fanbase in america and europe, i wouldnt be surprised if PS3 sent the America's and UK 100000 PS3 and Japan got the rest.....
